My favorite single, one-off show ever (that wasn't part of an outdoor festival) was the Fat Wreck/Rock Against Bush CMJ showcase in CMJ at B.B. King's in NYC. The Bouncing Souls with Dillinger Four, Strike Anywhere, Avail, None More Black, and the Soviettes.

As far as favorite tour line-ups go, I'm sure I'm forgetting some but... The Menzingers/Flatliners/Broadway Calls triple co-headliner from 2011 immediately comes to mind. Rise Against with Alkaline Trio, Thrice, and the Gaslight Anthem. My Chemical Romance and Boys Night Out in 2004. The Lawrence Arms with A Wilhelm Scream and the Methadones in 2005. Set Your Goals with Four Year Strong, the Swellers, Transit, Such Gold, and a few others that I'm probably forgetting. The Pop Disaster Tour. Less Than Jake with Samiam, A Wilhelm Scream, and Westbound Train. Zebrahead with the Matches. Finch/The Used with the Movielife and My Chemical Romance in 2003. Lifetime with the Bronx and the Loved Ones in 2006. Weezer and the Get Up Kids in 2000.

Two other tours I had tickets to and wound up not making it to the show for one reason or another: Every Time I Die with Vein, Turnstile, and Angel Du$t in 2018. The Loved Ones with the Ergs! and the Gaslight Anthem in 2008. Fall Out Boy with Anberlin, Don't Look Down, and Punchline in 2004.

I spent a lazy festive morning looking up the New Found Glory gigs I went to in the UK between 2001 and 2005 on setlist.fm.

I was saddened to find out that I must've seen Something Corporate support them in 2002 but until then I had no recollection of ever having seen SC.

    Things have changed.

Did SoCo go international with them? I know they were on the US leg of that tour.

I am old enough to remember when shoes had an “internet presale”, as in presales exclusively for people who had internet access. Those were the times.

a few favorite 'no weak links' tour line ups from the past (starting with headliner and ending with opener)
    -Thursday / Thrice / Coheed
    - Finch / The Used / The Movielife / my chemical romance
    - From Autum to Ashes / cave in / every time i die / funeral for a friend
    - weezer / tenacious d / jimmy eat world
    - drain / drug church / gel

best mini-fest: Tid The Season 2019 - everytime i die, glassjaw, against me, the damned things, ghostface killah being the highlights

best fest i cant even declare a winner. lolla in 13 & 14, and riot fest from 15-present, & punk in drublic in 2018 have all been incredible, all with bucketlist bands, new discoveries, and some of the older ones having some crazy huge names (now) at the bottom of the line ups

The no weak links line up I always brag about seeing is 2007 final Define the Great Line headliner with support from Every Time I Die, Poison The Well, and Maylene & The Sons Of Disaster.

aaron came out during the encore and was so snarky and said “here is cries from the past”. It’s like it wouldn’t have killed you guys to do when the sun sleeps

That Underoath/Norma Jean/Maylene tour in 2007 was pretty insane, too.

No weak link lineup winner for me is the 2008 Rise Against headliner w/Alkaline Trio, Thrice and The Gaslight Anthem

2003-2004 was the year for me. Saw so many shows. It was right before I moved away to upstate NY for college

Taking Back Sunday @ Sports Plus w/ Breaking Pangea (by the end of the year Fred joined TBS and Will was in Straylight Run…crazy)

    Finch/Something Corporate

    Glassjaw/Sparta/Hot Water Music

    Dashboard/MXPX/Brand New

Bright Eyes @ Knitting Factory (maybe 500 capacity - previewed songs from I’m Wide Awake)

    Brand New/Hot Rod Circuit/Straylight Run

Straylight Run December 2003 shows at Knitting Factory (Armor for Sleep, Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer, Kevin Devine opening)

Iggy Pop, Sonic Youth, and Thursday at Jones Beach (what a weird ass bill)

Thursday/Converge (supposed to be Glassjaw) Holiday show

    The Early November/Limbeck/Park/Spitafield (2004)

Also saw a crap ton of smaller shows because my buddy at the college I went to was the original bassist for Patent Pending.

Since we’re using this as a remembrance thread now, what was everyone’s top five shows of 2023?

    Mine:

    1. Archers Of Loaf- 2/7/23, Teragram Ballroom, LA

    2. The Cure- 5/20/23- North Island Credit Union Amphitheater, Chula Vista

    3. Ween- 7/28/23- Greek Theater, LA

    4. Death Cab For Cutie/Postal Service- 10/15/23, Hollywood Bowl, LA

    5. Botch- 12/9/23- Observatory OC, Santa Ana

Honorable mentions include Dinosaur Jr, They Might Be Giants, Braid, Ween, Weezer and Alice In Chains

I saw Turnover about a year apart in 2016 and 2017, and was pretty disappointed both times - I remember being really pissed that the singer couldn't even be bothered to the bridge part for "Breeze."

However, I saw them once more this year at a venue about 15 mins from my place (R.I.P. Alma) and was pleasantly surprised! They definitely remained very stationary throughout, they weren't doing stage banter or anything, but they were visibly comfortable and relaxed and happy to be there. Remarkable what a few extra years of performing can do!

Still crazy to me how their crowds just go off for such chill music, especially the Peripheral Vision material. I saw a girl in a sundress basically hardcore dancing to "Dizzy on the Comedown."

    Favorites and worsts...

The Chariot - Farewell tour @ Studio 7 (r.i.p), Seattle, WA (only my 2nd concert ever!)
Cartel - Chroma tour @ El Corazon, Seattle, WA (still one of my most important records)
Set Your Goals - Mutiny! show @ Chain Reaction, Anaheim, CA (maybe the most intense non-metal show i've ever been to
Showbread - Farewell show @ Analog Theater (r.i.p.), Portland, OR
Skindred & (hed) p.e. - (I went for Skindred, my friend for (hed), we were each blown away by the others' set - 12 bros locked arms and headbanged in unision in front of us)
Yellowcard - Farewell show @ House of Blues, Anaheim, CA (the entire farewell tour honestly, saw them 5 times, but that final show was truly a privilege)
New Found Glory - Sick Tour @ Showbox SoDo, Seattle, WA (just one of the best bills I've ever seen)
Warped Tour 2018 - Ventura County Fairgrounds, Ventura, CA (enjoyed all my Warped dates, but this was beautiful day, great lineup, and an important day in witnessing the recovery of my mental health)
Nine Inch Nails - Red Rocks Amphitheater, Morrison, CO (the played "the perfect drug" live for the first time)
Machine Gun Kelly - Riverfront Pavilion, Spokane, WA & Climate Pledge Arena, Seattle, WA (yeah, I SAID IT - guy may be a weirdo but he's an incredible entertainer)
Limp Bizkit - Reno Events Center, Reno, NV (huge bucket list band, only bummed that they put "gold cobra" to a vote and of course it lost to "faith")
Third Eye Blind - Edgefield Manor, Troutdale, OR & Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery, Woodinville, WA (one of my favorite bands, they never sounded better than these shows imo)
Grayscale - Neumos, Seattle, WA (just an unbelievably tight performance, a hugely pleasant surprise)
My Chemical Romance - Tacoma Dome, Tacoma, WA (held onto my tickets for so long, couldn't believe it actually happened, the setlist was perfect)
The 1975 - Climate Pledge Arena, Seattle, WA (huge surprise, absolutely one of the best stage productions i've ever seen)

TWIAPB @ The Roxy, West Hollywood, CA (band sounded bad and also my first experience at the Roxy, the worst venue in the LA area)
Glassjaw - Opening for Coheed & Cambria @ Hollywood Palladium, Los Angeles, CA (was so excited to finally see these guys, but Darryl looked absolutely miserable, then a naked man climbed up and danced on top of the speakers at the end)
Turnover - Teragram Ballroom, Los Angeles, CA & Neumos, Seattle, WA (never seen a crowd go so hard for a band that looked so miserable)
MxPx - Hawthorne Theater, Portland, OR (band was great, but i made the fatal mistake of thinking it would be neat to check out this deathtrap venue in the middle of summer, it was not)
Vein.fm - The Vera Project, Seattle, WA (fell and twisted my ankle on the sidewalk before the show, tried to tough it out at the show, made things worse)
Jack Johnson - The Gorge, George, WA (had the The Gorge hyped up for me my whole life, arrived after sunset, forgot my wallet, place was overcrowded as hell)

LMAO. I was at that show and totally forgot that happened.

But yeah I agree, that was my first time seeing them and it just felt kind of off. I was also still particularly bummed that Manny and Durijah weren’t in the band anymore so that dampened it for me. (Coheed ruled though! Especially since they played Everything Evil).

I’ve seen them three times since then (the Quicksand co-headliner, and two shows of the EYWTKAS/WxT anniversary tour) and they were phenomenal.

Another random note about that Coheed show. It turned out that a buddy/former coworker of mine was also at that show, but we didn’t meet until 5 years later. It was an amazing moment realizing that.
