Release My Mind, My Garden Grows

Depending on the daily lineup I'll probably end up looking to do a single day of SITW this time around if I go. The Hotelier is still up there on my list of bands I've never seen but I've also seen almost every other band on there that Im interested in. Them and How Much Art are like the main selling points for me. I'd put money on some pre/post shows like they did last year and Im actually more inclined to go to one of those.

Jawbreaker’s show at the Paramount in Brooklyn tomorrow got cancelled and all tickets are valid for the Wednesday show. Sounds like it didn’t sell well?

Went to Shaky knees this weekend and saw some really good sets and some not so good ones.

Hot take though that I just have to get off my chest - Blink are just not a very good live band (musically) and their humor hasn't aged well and it isn't entertaining even in a 'wink wink - we get this humor has aged poorly' kind of way.

Same goes for MCR - I have seen them a few times now, and while they're okay, they seem to be the kind of band that if you get them already, they're great live, but I can't see them converting anyone. The best live bands are ones that I barely know, or even dislike a little, yet by the end of the set, I'm more of a fan and get what their fans get. MCR has just been meh each time.

    Deftones were great.

John // OC now, OH forever.

Both Anaheim dates had about 400 tickets each given away for free.

I happen to be in NYC rn and have been thinking about going on Wednesday. Looks like with the combined show, Wednesday is now officially sold out

Not only are they honoring night 1 tickets for Wednesday, there was also a giveaway today of about 100 tickets.

My friend's band are also playing that night somewhere else, they are coming from California and I skipped the last 2 times they were here so this time I'll have to go.

Yeah I went to the Friday show and was kind of surprised it didn’t do well. It was their first OC shows since they reunited, they hadn’t played SoCal since 2022 and I thought TGUK opening would’ve upped the ante. Guess that wasn’t the case…

Blink has been a bad live act since their inception….and if you’re not into their middle school humor you’re probably only there for nostalgia

As someone who's seen Blink since the 90s they've always been a sloppy live act. Kinda cool that even as a big multi-billion dollar brand, they don't rely on too many back tracks and their live show is kind of a warts and all thing. I look at their sloppiness more as feature than a bug but your mileage may vary. MCR has always been a bit over-produced in the studio so a lot of the higher notes that fans associate with their songs aren't done live since Gerard struggles a bit (most noticabely on "Welcome To The Black Parade") but they always do a great job with the theatrics.

Sidenote.....but did you check out Stereophonics or Franz Ferdinand?

I always forget just how big Volbeat is overseas. Like they've definitely grown here, but I wouldn't consider them The Cure, Iron Maiden, or Linkin Park big. Not even close.
