Just saw that the Goo Goo Dolls are opening for Ed Sheeran here in NJ. Wonder if my kid will want to go.
Goo Goo Dolls randomly popped up on Sesame Street’s social media the other day lol. No idea how or why but they’re having some sort of resurgence.
That video of Goo Goo Dolls playing in the rain goes viral every few months. Probably because lots of Gen Z music lacks emotion so it really hits them when they see Iris being played in the rain.
Yeah I saw it was in like the top songs on Spotify. I mean to be fair to the goo goo dolls, it’s a perfect song. Gen z likes Deftones and goo goo dolls. Shit could be a lot worse.
Between ATG and Ocean’s Calling, that weekend is stuffed as it is for the 13-54 demographic on the East Coast. Didn’t realize how much overlap there was between all those + Southside
Oh wow that’s rough! I was really considering getting a day ticket for The Killers/Weezer. After the debacle last year of Foos and QOTSA dropping off, this festival seems cursed
This. Another smaller but possible factor was MGK and Julia Wolf releasing a cover of Iris a few weeks back.
I noticed sales seemingly took off following their Coachella stream / subsequent clips of Iris from that set going viral. I was planning on going to the PHX show and was keeping track of tickets which were somewhat plentifully available. I checked a few weeks after the above and it was sold out completely. somewhat related, I checked on Yungblud tickets in a few markets a week or two before the final BS show and I almost pulled the trigger on a few but there was seemingly a lot available. After the virality of his changes performance I checked back and he announced the entire tour was sold out which was wild.
They seem to selling a good amount last minute but in general they will just move people from the lawn to seats
In the flipside to the Offspring, Clipse face value tickets in NoVa doubled in price since the last time I looked. Selling has picked up, but surprised to see it go from $40 cheapest to $77. Floor is still $100, so the price range proportions seem off, but it is a college basketball arena without much glitz
Coheed/TBS need to stop coming to this venue in Chicago. $100 for a pit ticket for these bands is nuts, and nobody is buying seats
Not surprised Soundside was cancelled. Hozier is playing both Gov Ball and Sea Hear Now and also played 4x Forest Hills last year and did Soundside (when it was called Sound On Sound) in 2023. The Killers have seemingly been continuing to play every festival and also did 2x Forest Hills last year. Vampire Weekend has 4 nights at an NJ theater which is, I guess, an underplay but still not a ton of pull for this fest.
more like the need to stop taking big live nation checks so they actually have a choice where they play
not saying they should or would, my point that it’s not their choice where they play because they made the choice of working with live nation. of course two aging emo bands 20 years beyond their peaks are gonna take that insurance.
Speaking of big tours this summer…it really seems like the Kesha/Scissor Sisters tour is selling out in almost every market. Some of those sheds hold 20-25k, really great to see her back and thriving.
