I had RATM tickets for almost 3 years before they finally decided to just cancel it, and I'm still very salty about it.
I had Red tour tickets I had to miss for travel, same for fun. during the same time. Also had TREOS tix but of course that whole pandemic thing axed that. Those are the ones that stick out that I miss not being able to go to.
My biggest from 2020 is probably a triple co-headliner of the Bouncing Souls, Less Than Jake, and Lagwagon with Masked Intruder, Pkew Pkew Pkew and two other openers... It was meant to be on May 16th of all the days! Same. I feel lucky that I got to see them once back in like, 2008, but was very excited about seeing them again (with RTJ!) and am still very bummed about it all.
Top 4 is the following.. Avenged Sevenfold during Waking The Fallen era because they were supposed to play the old Birmingham academy in the small room but they got so drunk at the Kerrang Awards the night before they were too hungover to perform so they cancelled the Birmingham show. Amen were supposed to play in Birmingham but we got there early because they were supposed to do an in store signing before the gig at Virgin Megastores but both the signing and gig got cancelled the day of!! +44 were supposed to play in Wolverhampton but it got postponed for unknown reasons and said they will announce new make up dates.. they never did. I had tickets to see Dio and but Ronnie James Dio felt really ill so the tour got postponed at first but sadly it got cancelled after his passing :(
Sounds like we all have "a walking open wound, a trophy display of bruises" regarding these concerts!
I had tickets to see Failure play Fantastic Planet in its entirety. They toured again two years later but never made up that show specifically
Frank Ocean / rage against the machine / Travis Scott for Coachella would have healed me if it actually happened in 2020 what could have been
I was going to mourn the lost TREOS tour forever until we got the Boston shows this year. An all-time weekend for me.
I had tickets to see Dave Hause and the Explosion in March 2020 on like, Saturday the 21st. T hat one will stick with me just because I remember Dave saying "the show must go on" the night before and like, 12 hours later he made a post about doing the socially responsible thing and cancelling all remaining shows. That one still kinda stings for a whole mess of reasons. The biggest bit being that it was the first moment I realized it might become a very big, long-term thing.
when at the drive in reunited — we went to terminal 5 in nyc and people were literally inside waiting for the show to start when Omar Rodriguez Lopez came out and said they would not be playing that night. To this day it’s affected my feeling towards the band in general, just don’t listen to it get as excited about them anymore.
Same. Been listening since around 99 and never seen them. They were due to play 40 minutes from my home, near Edinburgh in 2022. Doubt they'd ever rearrange for that venue let alone the UK. Was too good to be true.
The one tour that comes to mind is Hayley Williams solo tour in 2020. The Format reunion as well, even tho is happening again, but Im no longer in the US for it
Actually, I just thought of another one (not related to the pandemic) I’m still salty about… I had tickets to see Queens Of The Stone Age play at the Majestic Ventura Theater in Ventura, CA. Was supposed to happen August of 2017. I was super stoked since that venue is only 1,100 cap and I did the best of my ability to get tickets. I even preordered Villains so I could get a pre-sale code and I scored a ticket. Apparently the venue only had a few tickets left for the actual public on-sale and they only made them available at the box office, but made no mention of it on any social media. So when on-sale happened, sales were closed on Ticketfly making tons of people upset and confused. The band wound up cancelling the show completely over because of it. Not sure if they did it because they weren’t happy with the venue, or if it’s because they received a ton of backlash from fans. They promised they’d set up a new show around that timeframe at a different venue in the area (which there weren’t really many of) but they never did.
so many from that timeframe for me. August Burns Red/Northlane/Counterparts/Thornhill (wasn’t formally announced, but ABR made a post about it on IG) Architects/Polyphia/Loathe Slipknot/ADTR/Underoath/Code Orange The Weeknd/Don Toliver/Sabrina Claudio
