They're good. They opened up for Portugal the man in like a 650 cap before PTM blew up and I still remember the show.

Anyone know how the Citizen tour is selling overall? The Portland date just got downgraded to a venue half the size (1500 to 750).
Not shocked by that at all. Last time they headlined here it was the Aladdin and I think sold out just before the show. Support for this isn’t anything that’ll draw super well either. I was definitely surprised they were trying to play the Crystal. I figured Revolution Hall would be a step up if anything.
Didn't they just post about all the tickets this weekend won't have fees on them as well? So I assume trying to move some tickets based on that.
Yeah some of the venues for that Ciz tour seemed kinda ambitious. I was suprised to see they’re playing the Hollywood Palladium which is ~4000 cap

I don’t really listen to Citizen but it feels like they tour a lot, and I feel like bands that tour a lot will eventually end up struggling at times to sell well. Turnover is a similar situation…why do I need to spend the money and see them live when I just saw them X months ago or will probably see them in X months (and X is almost always less than a year or just barely over a year). Bands that tour more infrequently, it makes seeing them live more of a priority since the next time you will see them will not be so soon.
damn I'm in LA county and I'd do this if I didn't have to drive like 40 mins to highland park for a discounted ticket haha I've been contemplating getting a ticket for this tour
You should also not want to see Turnover because they are incredibly boring live. Like absolute statues, and the audience these days gives that same energy back. Getting tired just thinking about it.
Definitely not true. Look at a band like Haywire that literally hit all 50 states last year and then got to do tours with Dropkick Murphy's and then Drain and now still killing it. It is definitely a case by case basis but I don't agree with "if you tour a lot, you won't sell tickets".
Literally the only reason I am considering the Turnover tour is because I love Nothing and Trauma Ray.
I just saw them about a week and a half ago for the second time, and while I'll agree that they definitely don't move around a whole lot it's definitely more of a chill out and vibe type of atmosphere. So it would feel weird if they were jumping off of ego risers and stage diving out of nowhere. Plus they still sound great, so I can't really complain too much.
I feel this applies to Hot Mulligan as well. Constantly on the road and they keep playing bigger rooms each tour
I don't think that's a great comparison. Haywire is a new band (~2.5 years) and the support tours they've done appeal to very different groups of people. Which is smart. So for anybody who is seeing them its probably their first time doing so. Maybe second if they're lucky. They've just been really active for what would be a normal album/touring cycle for certain bands. If they don't get new music out by next year I bet you'd start to see some diminishing returns. But if they do and it's received well? Off to the races again. Citizen has been around for what? Over a decade at this point? If you've been a fan since then you've seen them however many times. It's apples and oranges, IMHO. EDIT: But I also think that band has ups/downs in terms of fans who enjoy them. They do the thing where a new album alienates people but it brings new people in... So when the new album gets released that could change things too.
