Her tour did really well last year, but I think a lot of it was timing and the novelty of her being "back" – going back to that well twice in a row was obviously a big miscalculation.
Their crowd was massive at Slam Dunk yesterday but not much reaction to the 2 new songs they played. It was also a massive chunk of the crowd's first GC show, I think sale will definitely depend on pricing but only doing two big shows is probably a good idea.
Kesha plays here in SLC on Saturday and seat tickets are definitely only about 30% sold. The lawn isn’t sold out yet either.
I went to Slam Dunk Festival in Leeds yesterday and first off it was boiling hot but thank goodness for hills so I could sit down in between bands but anyways the highlight of the day was Sublime.. they were fucking brilliant and Jakob is a really good singer and frontman, they were the main reason I went to Slam Dunk in the first place and they exceeded all expectations big time!! Other bands I really enjoyed were Good Charlotte, Goldfinger, The Home Team and surprisingly.. President!! The low point of the day were Taking Back Sunday.. the band sounded good but Adam.. seriously either he just can't be bothered being engaged as a performer live or hes on drugs or something because I heard stories about him being bad live the last few years but fucking hell seeing it in person was a train wreck.. the rest of the band need to give him an ultimatum.. either go to rehab and get his shit together or if he is clean and sober but being really lazy and phoned it in as a performer then fire him and get someone who actually wants to be there and put in the work.
I've heard so much about how bad he's been over the last few years that now I kind of want to see the train wreck myself. They're with Bayside in Myrtle Beach soon, may go for that.
Sublime were definitely a highlight for me as well. The crowd for Hawthorne Heights was massive and there was very little talking which was good as last time I think they only played four songs in half an hour. Set your goals and A Loss For Words were also highlights for me.
Totally didnt expect this since they hardly play anything from it live nowadays. Ben Quad and Super Sometimes is great support too. I’ll definitely be hitting this up.
That line-up is nuts. Alexisonfire, Snapcase, and Spaced is an epic billing. Underoath too but they just aren't for me. LOL
