It’s not uncommon for bands to do LA and Anaheim back-to-back. But doing LA, Anaheim and Riverside is interesting. Definitely gotta be an underplay tour
At least for Anaheim, we've got Riverside, Los Angeles, Irvine, and San Diego in the teaser. LA and SD have multiple venues, but Irvine really just has Great Park Live (which is probably twice as big as House Of Blues) and Riverside has Riverside Municipal Auditorium (half the listed capacity of HOB Anaheim). No idea what's going on, though I'm intrigued.
Yeah The Rave Milwaukee's teaser also had Chicago, Minneapolis, Green Bay, & Madison listed. The teasers are grouped regionally for some mysterious reason. Guess we'll find out soon enough!
Stamford + some other random cities without popular venues makes me think that they’re doing free downtown shows like Alive at 5 in a few cities
Northeast is always bombarded with tours in Sep, Oct and Nov. I think it's due to festival season ending and, at this point, you can still play outdoors well into October.
All of this year's Suicide Machines dates in one convenient admat. Came alongside an email saying there are more TBA...
^ "Our mission with this tour is to play the places next door to our usual stops in order to give ourselves and everyone new places to visit with their friends" lmao fuck off, don't tease cities you're not playing to give people false hope.
also lol at them saying this and then having a date in Anaheim, just as they have basically every year since 2007
That's fair but also they fully put the names of cities they aren't playing in the videos. Imagine being from St. Louis getting hyped and then realizing the actual show is four hours away. I can imagine people being frustrated.
fair, but it is a poorly thought out concept when they are listing cities they actually don't usually play in teasers and then choose to play one of the socal A market cities they play at least once a year and then have the audacity to say a city 100 miles away is "next door"
I for one would not be stoked if my city was being teased as part of a tour, only to find that the closest date to me was miles away
Having lived in Massachusetts my whole life I am very used to this. Worcester and Mansfield are a 45-60 minute drive from Boston. And both are frequently labeled as "Boston." Still feels weird to do it deliberately with a bunch of cities. But whatever.
