I’m curious as to what contact list they used, because I went 21-24 and didn’t get one. Like, I probably wouldn’t go this year anyway given everything we know, but you’d think I’d at least be the target audience.
I can see no lineup yet and be ok with that, but the fact that they didn’t put dates out and will expect to not struggle with sales is insane to me.
i went every year since FF came back and it’s the only fest i would purchase tickets to blindly without knowing a single artist on the lineup. i don’t understand what the thought process has been this year, especially after clearly struggling to sell tickets last year…. you’d think they would have tried harder to get the ball rolling early. i know it changed hands and there’s been a lot of major behind the scenes things going on, but to not even have any information dropped yet is crazy. also, i haven’t received that email either and i purchased tickets every single year so idk clearly they didn’t even get that right this time.
same me and my buddy have been going every year. We discussed it yesterday, wonder if it was more a peach tree mailing list and not the furnace fest one.
I'm on the mailing list but I've never been to the festival. So maybe that's it? But the email also had a link to a survey asking for info about my past Furnace Fest experiences (e.g., number of years I've gone, value of ticket, overall experience, line-up predictions for 2026). So maybe not? LOL Just so people don't think I'm making it up:
TIL I learned that there is both a Horsegirl and Horsegiirl (not sure if these were posted): Horsegiirl: 09-18 Denver, CO - Reelworks ^ 09-23 Los Angeles, CA - The Forum * 10-21 - Atlanta, GA - The Eastern $ 10-23 Philadelphia, PA - The Fillmore $ 10-24 Washington, D.C. - Bertha ^ 10-27 Toronto, Ontario - History $ 10-29 New York, NY - Terminal 5 ^# 10-31 Boston, MA - Roadrunner $ * = supporting Robyn ^ = support from Ren G $ = support from DJ_Dave # = support from Dylan Brady
Well damn. Yeah I'm starting to remember they had a ton of East coast dates and then like one or two LA dates for their "West coast" representation. That's probably why I blocked it out of my memory.
Absolutely wild. But makes me optimistic that I'll be able to find decently priced second hand tickets closer to the shows.
Weird Al's tour a few years back was billed VERY explicitly as ONLY being his deeper cut/fan favorites in a stripped-back theater setting instead of the costume changes & amphitheater experience with Eat It, Like a Surgeon, Saga Begins, Amish Paradise and all of his classic parody songs. Like, VERY explicitly. It was titled "The Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour." and there were STILL comments online like "My family and I only knew 2-3 songs. Disappointed. Where was Amish Paradise?" I really don't think enough people/music fans pay attention when artists/bands go out on special tours that are not "come see all of your favorite hits!"
To your point, some people like songs and some people like music. Simple as that. At chorus, we are like the biggest music fans, which is why we care to be apart of a music community explicitly. But most people love songs. They just want to treat artists like “dance monkey”.
