The PUP / Jeff Rosenstock rooms make no sense to me. It's in a huge venue for my city and the last time I saw Pup here, it was 40% sold out in a room half the size, and I don't see anything that makes me think they're any bigger with more appeal. The addition of Jeff Rosenstock also makes me want to go LESS. His most played song on Spotify (Nausea) is pretty bad and annoying and I haven't liked much else I've heard either.
Pup has been laying (relatively) low in the US the last couple of years so that will probably help them a bit. But I think Jeff and his increased popularity are definitely carrying that tour... As for you not liking Jeff Rosenstock? I think it's fair to say that you're probably in the minority of Pup fans that also don't like Jeff Rosenstock. I'm sure you're not alone but there is a lot of overlap in those two fanbases. It's a pretty strong combo, TBH. I doubt a lot of those shows will sell out but it'll do just fine in the end. And really, I can't hate either of these two bands trying to level up. More power to 'em.
similar happened to phish at MSG NYE 2019, the four members were on floating platforms and the one with singer/guitarist Trey got stuck. So naturally he made up a little song about being rescued
To each their own. I genuinely have not liked any of the songs I've sampled when deciding if this is a show I want to go. And some of them were 'nope - next song now' listens. But everyone likes something a little different. I've fallen off PUP too. They also weren't great the last time I saw them live. Trying to get back into them as 1) the venue is one of the largest 'club' venues so I figured I'd missed something, and 2) it's a super convenient venue for me that's worth it most of the time for whatever show as it's such low hassle. TLDR - Don't like Jeff, don't really like PUP, don't understand the venue sizes, but will probably go anyway and maybe eat my words if I have a good time.
That's normally what leads to not liking an artist when you don't even like their apparent best stuff I'm checking it now. Thanks.
Part of this could also be due to availability. Also speaking of venue sizes I have no idea what We Came As Romans' booking agent was thinking. There's some dark blue on these ticket pages and the tour starts this month.
Same for WCAR in Charlotte. I mainly wanted to go for After The Burial, but I’ll just wait until their next tour. Kinda thought WCAR could just move the show to the 750 cap room next to The Fillmore, but The Descendents are playing there the same night.
what I’ll never understand in situations like this, is what are they making off the Ozzfest property right now? Maybe few thousand a year to be generous. Let’s say live nation wants it, pays for the license and they get paid to be a part of it through promotions and merch, they would obviously be getting way more than they are now. Makes no sense to demand these giant payday and input.
Manifesting this as the line-up for the FYS holiday show this year. Ridiculously strong line-up from top to bottom. And a pretty perfect combo of bands.
Bob Vylan were dropped by their agent and had their visa revoked in the US over glastonbury, so probably safe to assume their fall tour with grandson is off.
Inject this Goldfinger line-up in to my veins and bring on a late fall east coast weekender, please. It's been way too long since I've seen Unwritten Law and Zebrahead...
flying to Vegas for this but can’t good a good grasp on if the VIP upgrade is worth it or not for Virgin’s outdoor venue
So bummed this is during Warped instead of a day before. Hoping Stateside gets added to Sunday Warped.
