As much as I am a fan of Weezer, i find their live show to be so boring. Certainly not a band you need to see more than once. If nosebleeds are reasonably priced I might go for SSP, The Shins, and maybe get home at a reasonable time. Otherwise I'm leaning more towards the Alkaline Trio show that same night.
Glad I got to see Weezer once, but it was more of checking a box and being able to say I saw them. I haven't been inspired by them in 15+ years. I know they are huge for others so I'm happy people are getting to see them!
I really want to see Lily Allen but I can’t justify arena prices for a 50min, 14 track set without any live instrumentation. Really hope she’ll add an encore set of 3-4 songs for these arena shows.
I’m wondering if we’ll finally be getting new Shins music this year too. Their last tour was 4 years ago and their last album was almost a decade ago. Could’ve sworn James said they had a new album almost done like, two years back
Anyone know if Pat is coming back to play drums for Weezer this tour or is he no longer part of the live show?
the last tour sold pretty poorly, and they’ve scaled down their shows in the US since the Drones tour. I don’t get the impression we’ll see those huge visual spectacles they once put on.
Ha I guess “scaled down” is all relative. The Simulation Theory tour had that whole sub army come out on stage. You are right though that their last two times here in NYC I believe they had a second night on hold but never ended up adding it.
The drones tour was incredible…when the drones were flying around the arena like the solar system was wild, same with when the military plane crashed into the stage. don’t think we’ve seen another act try anything like this since? I remember people saying that the drones didn’t work correctly at every show which sucks, it was was really unique.
lol their last tour had a bunch of sold out dates in the us. It also had evanescence on it. It also sold over a million tickets
