I’ve had such shit luck trying to see MCR since they reunited that I might pull the trigger on this. Not to mention the rest of the lineup has enough to sell me.
Kublai Khan, Spite, Bodysnatcher and Peelingflesh all playing same days for Louder Than Life and Aftershock. Same for After The Burial and The Acacia Strain. Edit: weird seeing $uicideboy$ and Three 6 Mafia playing same day after the lawsuit.
I have a lot of overtime pay coming up so I said screw it and pulled the trigger on this. Similar lineup to LTL & Sonic Temple, but I think the stage splits are a lot more managable, especially with PTV & MCR on separate days. All killer no filler, but also a bit more variety than other DWP fests (Public Enemy, Wu-Tang & Bizkit is a killer stage)
lol yeah it’s not the lineup I was expecting but I’ll finally get to see Goo Goo Dolls & Gwen Stefani live. Still gonna be there!
Seems like the Andy Hull tour was pushed back and it’s being announced tomorrow. It makes sense and is totally understandable given the passing of Tim.
People always do this with Josh Allen. "He grew up a 49ers fan being from the Bay Area - just outside of Fresno."
One of my friends grew up in Los Banos. She always said she’s from the bay area because it was easier than trying to explain where she was actually from lol
Minor annoyance, but when I went to college I always found it odd that people from a suburb of Boston or Philly would say they were FROM said city. I grew up in the NYC suburbs and no one would say they from New York City unless they lived in the actual boroughs.
I think it really just depends on the metro area, I guess. Example: If you live in, say, Scottsdale, I think you could get away with saying you’re from Phoenix. Or if you’re from Henderson, NV, I think you could get away with telling people you’re from Vegas But, if you live in like, Pomona, I don’t think you can tell people you’re from LA…
Everytime I meet someone "from Philly" and then ask a follow up they always reply "just outside the city" and its like in Reading or some shit.
Depends on the specific area/city and the person you're talking to. Boston's surrounded by a bunch of smaller cities (Cambridge, Somerville) that are all connected by public transit so... Even Bostonians basically consider them all just different neighborhoods of the same big lump "thing." And when talking to people from other parts of the country it's just easier to say "Boston" rather than a very specific thing that's right next door and has no real meaningful difference beyond an arbitrary line. But I can definitely see that same logic not applying to NYC proper versus surrounding suburbs.
