The Beths and Japanese Breakfast are playing Gov Ball which is likely why. Gov Ball swallowing up a bunch of good indie/alt acts while having headliners I don't want to see is....annoying.
I can't believe that this new version of The Fray without their lead singer is being billed over Dashboard. Also can't believe that this new version of The Fray think they can do 15k ampitheaters.
I'm still pissed at The Fray for ultimately being one of the leading causes for the cancellation of the Jack's Mannequin/All American Rejects summer tour in 2009.
Gotta imagine a lot of folks don’t care/know the difference. The Fray sold out the 6k room in DC last year, while Isaac is playing a solo show at a 200 person movie theatre in a few weeks (great spot FWIW). I don’t get the sense this is the same as Skiba Blink, with The Fray having just enough casual fans to keep the wheels turning. Last year’s DC show was a sold out room of people talking the entire time while locking in for the 4-5 mega hits that they have.

I really wish this band would come stateside. But I understand that they probably refuse to with the current administration and I respect it. I just want to see Billy Talent....
I think it's more than their draw here is significantly smaller than in Canada and (I assume) Europe.

This is my assumption as well. Billy Talent probably wouldn't be able to sell out a ~300 cap room anywhere in the US. A stark contrast to what they can do in Canada and Europe. The Living End have a similar situation where they still do really well in Australia but in most other spots in the world it's a struggle. I saw them play at a ~500 cap space here near me in 2016 and the place was half-full at best.
Billy Talent usually plays super small rooms here in Michigan and they sell out immediately and then I'm like oh yeah Canada is right there
