Yeah their fan conversion rate is really high. You can tell at the merch table who's a new fan to the band and they always make new fans.
Its a great tour lineup, but what exactly would make the tour an annual thing? It's just a summer tour in 1-2k clubs. I want borders or anthem full album shows!
I'm a little confused by the confusion? Like, not to be snarky, but what makes something "annual" is the fact that it happens every year. Venue size has nothing to do with it... It's all just branding. Less Than Jake taking a full package of ska/punk bands they're friends with on the road every summer and calling it "Summer Circus" would make it an annual thing. It's a smaller scale than most other examples I can think of but it's like Korn's Family Values tour, Punk in Drublic, or Everclear's Summer Shack Sugar Party or whatever that was called with all the 90s bands.

felt like it was happening to me again with GEL until the one guy gooned it up for the rest of them. -open for DRAIN at small club -headline that same small club the following year -mid day riot fest slot with massive crowd (only gwar and rob zombie after them on that stage) - and was about to see them open the sold out spiritbox theater tour, but they dropped and disbanded... still bummed about it
even if the tour is announced and it clearly says visual album this still had me click it excitedly lmao
Looks like queens of the stone age have a fall USA tour booked for at least October. They had something on the video board tonight in Chicago that they will be back October 2nd on the catacombs Tour
Summer of loud started yesterday and beartooth/I prevail/killswitch engage/parkway drive all got 50 min. The 4 openers varied between 25-40 min
people on Reddit said they closed the lawn and upgraded everyone to seats, which I would think can be expected for most dates. I think everyone would agree if you asked people the expected attendance for this tour, people would says 4K-7k. But they put this in 10k-20k amps the pics Beartooth put up looks like the seats portion itself is decently filled.
I was there at the West Palm Beach date and like someone else mentioned, they closed the lawn and everyone with lawn tickets got upgraded to seats. The seats and pit filled up considerably by Beartooth's set (around 6) and then a lot of people started leaving after Parkway Drive, with people trickling out regularly during I Prevail (who closed the night). I would assume if your show is at an amphitheater, lawn will get upgraded. Despite the turnout, it was a really good show and it was nice to have only 20-minute turnaround times between bands. The Devil Wears Prada, Beartooth and Killswitch were the highlights for me.
They played the Fox Pomona last year and I don't think they sold it out. They also have the Wiltern on this tour. But yeah their new music hasn't gotten much attention at all
I can't help but feel this tours going to see a lot of people leaving after the 2nd or 3rd headliner of the night. I know at the end of the day it's a "metalcore" fest but it definitely seems like two very opposite ends of the metalcore spectrum. Like these were two separate tours of Parkway/Killswitch/Prada/Alpha Wolf and Beartooth/I Prevail/Amity/Kingdom of Giants that got combined into a traveling fest at some point.
Did they post set times/the order of the headliners before the show? I got comps and might try to go for TDWP, KSE and maybe PWD but have less than zero interest in watching anyone else.
