The Offspring has gone through this big career resurgence the last few years! They sell out arenas in the UK and Europe way in advance!
They are way more successful outside the U.S. these days. A big component of their success, my theory, is that their songs don't necessarily require hyper-fluency of English and are really globally relatable thus the success.
I do think they had a resurgance these past years. I saw then at the Aragon Ballroom (5k cap venue) back in 2022, there was a bogo offer for the tickets and still it was far from selling out, but these past tours they have played bigger rooms
Circle Jerks and Gorilla Biscuits feels kinda likely given the sporadic shows they've been doing... EDIT: Plus Negative Approach like @sam_might_say said!
Roxx Fest in Portage, Indiana June 19th and 20th are teasing their line-up. Simple Plan, We the Kings, and Bowling for Soup are all on it.
Small sample size, but they had a massive crowd at Aftershock so I’m not surprised they’re aiming high for this tour. Adam rejoining the band has brought them a decent amount of hype + the nostalgia vibes are there.
Strike while the irons hot. Also helps that the new album they put out is probably the best thing they've put out in the last decade.
Also as a side note, having Finger Eleven on one leg and then I Prevail on the other is uhh... Questionable let's just say. I don't see that being equal popularity/pull wise. IDK maybe I'm wrong. Sorry Finger Nation (or whatever Finger Eleven fans are called).
Bonnaroo headliners looking like Noah Kahan, the Strokes, and Rufus Du Sol (Skrillex doing a welcome party set on Thursday) according to some of the people who leaked last years lineup at inforoo.
For the upcoming UK dates they are playing 3,000 cap venues and Brixton Academy which is under 5,000 capacity and the whole tour was sold out way in advance ever since Adam came back into the band.. their previous UK tour I saw them in Birmingham and the balcony was curtained off completely!
Well, yep looks like there's my reason. Idk why I always forget that they're both Canadian and much bigger over there.
It's funny because they have never really been a prolific touring band over here and looking at venue sizes where I live they are all over the place. 2.5k to 4k to 16k and back down and up again. https://www.setlist.fm/search?query=The+offspring+Manchester+
