They may be good live, I just don't think their music or aesthetic lines up with the vision that I had for the Sphere.

 

Oh, I wasn't disagreeing with that.

And 2009 was sixteen years ago, anyway.

 

They were one of my favorite acts at Coachella last year, absolutely killed it

 

I read it as 2019 anyway haha.

I think someone else already said it but Tame Impala is who I'm waiting for. And then maybe someone like Parcels. I'm sure there's a ton of EDM / jam acts outside my scene that are high on people's lists.

Either way, it has seemed kind of tame there compared to what was expected. Cost of production? Overall decline in Vegas tourism?

 

Probably has something to do with the level of intricacies around sphere specific setup (I vaguely remember reading something about how it takes a year to create visuals) combined with a necessary massive audience draw to offset all the costs surrounding the events. Sort of makes it understandable why a lot of the artists there so far have been legacy acts.

That said Tame Impala at the Sphere would be so cool.

The main issue with the Sphere is the cost. Would have loved to experience it whilst in Vegas but it costs $100+ just to watch the 50 minute Aranovsky film in there.
