This is a weird lineup even by country music festival standards. Bush, Third Eye Blind, and Counting Crows stick out like sore thumbs.

    The Wallflowers too

Hootie is also kinda weird if you don’t take Darius Rucker’s country career into consideration

Stagecoach has branched out like this the past couple years -- last year had the Backstreet Boys and Creed and Nelly, so ... yeah

This might be too anecdotal because I skipped Jawbreaker last night while in NYC, but I think there’s a difference between a legacy band that motivates folks to travel for and a band who needs to come to its fans.

Not a worth/value of the music thing, but there’s a difference between Oasis parking in 5 American cities and Jawbreaker or Fountains of Wayne being selective with their shows and expecting a bulk of people to go out of their way for it.

This is probably the result of broader show saturation everywhere, but it’s hard to balance “fewer high quality shows and not touring” with “our fans willing to see us are spread out and won’t go out of their way for us” for whatever reason

I get what you're saying and I fully agree! Oasis and Jawbreaker are good counterpoints in the moment because I think becoming an "active touring band" versus keeping it pretty "exclusive" is the difference.

It's anecdotal but the Jawbreaker thing is one I've definitely felt. Riot Fest 2017 was a huge pop. The first tour out did massively well (sold out in Boston). Then the next tour they did was with stronger support (Get Up Kids) and sold well but didn't sell out... Then the third time they hit Boston was with Joyce Manor in a bigger space; felt like there were fewer people there and quite a few left after Joyce Manor. Then at Riot Fest this year the crowd just seemed "eh" on the set (and I was happy they were there but they weren't one of the make/break bands on the bill for me this time around).

Mind you, I'm not throwing shade on the bands at all. I love Jawbreaker and plan on going to see them as much as I can before they hang it up again... But there's no denying that once you take the scarcity away on a lot of these acts the demand dips away.

Still mad I missed out on seeing them when the movie came out. I was in college in Chicago and there was an advance screening. He showed up and introduced the movie, and said he was doing a show and that busses will take people over to the cubby bear. My friends and I head over, bit of a shit show with busses, only to be denied at the door for being under 21

I’m at Miss May I, and this opener Colorblind isn’t even hiding the fact that they are backtracked to all hell. The vocalist is holding his mic out to the crowd and the vocals are still loud and clear as day. Like at least fake it for me.

Sounds like the LA edition of Punk In The Park isn’t doing well. They’re doing a sale where the next 100 tickets are $20 off.

Maybe the Trump shit it biting them in the ass

anyone know what this is? I’m guessing it’s some band’s mailing list that I’m signed up for- but it would be nice to know which band sent it
