There's some good tunes on the later releases too.

when they played in Portland the other month, Forest came out to announce that they “weren’t ready yet” and just kept buying time by playing new songs he’s been working on

While that was going on, their bassist was side stage, and between songs, Forest would ask if the guy was ready to play or not, but the bassist kept saying “no”

so Forest just played the first half of the set solo. Eventually, halfway through, the bassist said he was ready to play, and they performed as a full band for 15min.

It was really bizarre. I don’t play any instruments but can’t imagine how you’re not prepared to just go play for 30min and half to keep warming up

Since this is the speculation thread Ive seen his tour mate Augie get pretty toasted for a show. Could be that. Lord knows Ive had bandmates too drunk to play live before.

I think it’s mostly Forrest running the show so it’s a bit of a moving target of band members and opportunities, hence some of the solo plays. He even runs the merch shop himself.

Their last big tour in 2021 for Would It Kill You was full band and awesome (one of my favorite records), but they haven’t had a record or stable band to keep consistent momentum.

If nothing else, while mostly hooked on nostalgia, one of the few bands from that era to continuously put out and rely on new music versus the one or two records from the hey day.

I agree that tour was a party and a great setlist.

Good Charlotte and All-American Rejects makes objectively perfect sense. Two pop-rock/glossy emo acts who still have vague “scene” aesthetics and connections who had rock radio hits and Top 40 crossover success during roughly the same timeframe.

It makes way more sense than that NFG tour AAR did, TBH.

Stylistically it makes sense, but the whole goal of this house show tour AAR is doing is how they’re serious artists who go against everything the scene they got put in. Tyson’s done a bunch of interviews about how they’re a rock and roll band and kinda think they’re above nostalgia tours.

I think their NFG tour last year was their exception.

Would It Kill You, Everything is Debatable, and S'Only Natural are all GREAT albums. Hellogoodbye fucks.

FYI it looks like they quietly added a whole bunch of shows and venues to that $30 sale over the weekend. In NYC specifically they added a whole bunch of shows at Pier 17, MSG, Brooklyn Paramount and Prudential Center.
Unfortunately by the time I found out about it most of them were already all sold.
