These past few blink tours alone probably were the better part of a car down payment. I'll always have those memories, though! Or will I.

If you really want to feel depressed, think about how much $ you've spent on alcohol at bars for those who partake.

Wasn't familiar at the time! Saw them open for Tigers Jaw/Lemuria in April of 2015 and fell in love

So far this year I’ve been to 12 shows for $190. Lotta local shows, free shows, block parties, free tickets.

My next 12 shows on my schedule are $435 but include 4 fests and 3 amphitheater shows

On average, I'd say I go to 3-6 shows each month. But they're mostly in venues with smaller capacities (~800 or less). One or two of them are usually in a bigger room (1-5k capacity). The price varies drastically depending on the venue, promoter, etc. But it can be anywhere from $25 to $60 depending.

I feel pretty lucky in that I can mostly avoid arenas and stadiums. Green Day is really the only one I'll go out of my way to see every single time no matter what and stress about getting tickets for. But other than them I usually just skip it or I try to see if I can get a cheap re-sale closer to the show.

But still. Given the number of shows and factoring in a festival or two... Live music definitely makes up the bulk of my recreational budget each year. LOL

I’ve gone to three shows so far this year all of which have been free since I’ve won tickets (Counterparts, Poppy, and BFMV).

$75 on even a club show is ridiculous to me but I can’t fathom going into debt for a couple hours of happiness at a stadium show.

I'm currently in the early stages of selling my apartment and buying a house and I'm furious at myself tallying up the amount of money I've spent on shows and vinyl in the last 2 years.

I go to 1-3 shows a month, unfortunately tons of arena shows and also 3 fests a year so I really don’t want to know how much I pay. Especially because I buy my fiancées tickets too lol

i almost spent 30 bucks going to see Save Ferris & The Toasters last night, but when i got to the door and said i would like to buy 1, the person who just got through said "my friends bailed so i have an extra, here use it!" so i got in free and Save Ferris brought Punk Rock Saves Lives on tour with them, so i donated my ticket cash to that instead. gotta pay that shit forward!

Adding up what I spent on records in 2023 made my purchasing drop significantly the last year and a half.

Is there a trick for getting discount tickets for arena shows anymore when they are selling terribly? Specifically shows like offspring + linkin park. Do they get dumped on Groupon or something?

I honestly don't know. Resellers (regardless of if they are scalpers or actual fans) really don't want to take a hit below what they spent unless it's like literal hours before the show. Sometimes TM actively lowers the price of standard tickets a few days before the show but I highly doubt you're going to get like...a significantly discounted pit ticket even if those aren't sold out.

Try to avoid staff and sneak to seats you know aren’t sold. It worked for me with AAR/NFG/MCS last year. Got a shitty 200 level seat and moved to a super close 100 level seat that I could see wasn’t sold on the app. During NFG staff asked me if I wanted to go into the pit because it was undersold and could see I was having a blast haha

Usually they drop the price a few days before the show
