Kublai Khan / Drain / Gideon / Guilt Trip

 

Would love to make it to at least one day of All Things Go! Each of those days has at least four acts I would go see, I just need a three month weather forecast beforehand

 

Dang, pretty disappointed with that ATG NYC lineup.

Pulp at Forest Hills on 9/11...wild.

 

I have no actual knowledge, but I just have to assume that the venue cost of Forest Hills is either cheaper or on par with Radio City and Prospect Park. Its the only way to explain why these mid theater acts (Pulp, Parcels, Big Thief, Dr Dog) are going with FH when they know they'll barely fill half the place.

Also wild that there are 19 shows booked (so far) for Forest Hills this summer. Gotta be the most packed their schedule has ever been.

 

I never really got into Pulp, but it’s very cool to see them playing larger venues than I’d expect for them. Britpop is definitely hot here in the States

…now if only Blur could do the same…

 

its simple, AEG owns forest hills, they don't own the others. also outdoor season.

 

I think Prospect Park Bandshell and Radio City have either huge union fees and/or regulations. PP Bandshell in particular (I live a 20 min walk from the neighborhood) and it's a super rich, yuppie neighborhood who probably doesn't like a ton of shows there. Funny enough Big Thief were supposed to play the bandshell in the summer of 2020.

 

Lil Wayne album release show at Madison Square Garden on June 6th.

 

Looks like Circle Jerks/Ceremony/Negative Approach dates are popping up around Keith’s 70th birthday show. Show in Bakersfield on Sept 13th and San Luis Obispo on Sept 14th popped up

 

Think I'll go to the Bakersfield show since it's a Saturday.

 

Not even a Circle Jerks show on a Saturday could get me to Bakersfield…

Looks to be a single/one-off show around Camp Punksylvania but... Hot damn, is it good to see more life in the Larry Arms camp!

The support on this one is pretty great too. That Errth record is probably gonna wind up being a sleeper favorite this year for me. It sounds like PunkNews circa 2007 with a modern flair. Really, really great band.
