I don't even bother with the bars at the regency. Although there is a new toilet bar downstairs that has shorter lines.

 

Make a weekend out of it and catch a cheap flight to LA and out of San Diego.

I've never had a good experience at Regency. Would much rather they use Fillmore since they're similar sizes.

 

honestly the move is just going to the BevMo across the street and have a tall can or two for a fraction of the cost before the show. It’s been a lifesaver*

Yeah I drove down in June for their show last year! From San Diego originally so the observatory is especially enticing.

May even hit up TEMPE since my best bud is moving out to AZ soon.

I have options and it’s a beautiful thing.

What is a toilet bar? Is that a bar made up of toilets?

 

The Regency is hated for many reasons, one being they had one bathroom for a 1.5k room and 2 bartenders total (often 1 being vip only)

they opened up more bathrooms downstairs and set up a little bar right outside the bathroom entrance. At a sold out show, the line to the bar and bathroom downstairs starts to merge. It's a shitty situation ;)

 

1 bathroom originally for 1500 people sounds like a nightmare. Surprised people weren't just pissing on the floor.

That might be an upgrade. My beef with that place is the sound is uncomfortably bad nearly everywhere in there. Either the mix is too much bass or the way it echoes in that room, but I was legit nauseous at a few shows where I made the mistake of standing in the balcony or on the sides of the floor.

 

LCD Soundsystem is teasing a tour. Milwaukee, Detroit, Toronto, Seattle, Red Rocks, Oregon, and Columbus is what I have seen teased so far.
