someone in the furnace fest community tried to defend it by saying “you know how many of your favorite artists are pieces of shit behind the scenes?”

that’s where we are going to try and justify buying brand new tickets in 2025

RE - That band - I'm not defending it, and I'm not going to go, but I'm not going to spend energy arguing when I know that without doubt this tour is going to do really well, and people are going to attend. There's so much going on in the world that I'm not going to waste time and energy criticizing every single person who expresses that they're one of the 10's of thousands (if not more) people that are excited to drop money and go see them.

It's just a sad thing to accept and basically ignore and I'll keep my morals and standards and move on. I don't have the capacity or energy to chime in and admonish and argue every time an opinion of 'I don't care, I'm going' pops up.

It's going to get really really exhausting around here every time the same conversation is rehashed over and over again. I'm solidly in the ignore (besides this one post) camp.

That Jimmy addition for BFF Fest... so much Clarity talk on it has me thinking that just got my ticket bought.

If they do full Clarity, I can't miss that.

  7. They kind of clarify what their set will be like. Doesn't sound like it's Clarity in full.

  9. I'm expecting a couple more Static Prevails songs, lots of Clarity, "What I Would Say To You Now", "No Sensitivity", etc. A lot of those older songs, mixed with some deep cuts/singles from BA and Futures too.

Man you might've just made that a better sell than just "Clarity in full".

So no price caps on resale, just more transparency on prices and moving towards all in pricing up front both on standard and secondary markets.

I guess it might also try to stop speculative ticketing but seems like a lot of nothing overall. Unless I'm missing something

This seems to just be the first step. Kid Rock made some good points actually when he spoke and genuinely seemed like he wants to get ticket prices lower. I know he is a living pile of trash, but he has generally tried to do good by his fans when it comes to his shows. I remember a few years back he capped ticket prices at like 20 bucks and beers at 5 for all of his shows.

That EO will amount to nothing. It basically just says they'll enforce existing rules (spoiler: they won't).

It's lip service designed to distract.

I've made a fair stink about tickets needing to priced at their demand which, I recognize, is easier said than done. I also feel like there needs to be pricing transparency BEFORE the on sale, clarification on if dynamic/platinum in use and, where possible, estimates based on historical sales as to where those platinum prices might range. The ONLY reason this doesn't happen right now is the acts and their management don't want the perception of them being greedy pricks and the discourse ahead of the tour to potentially give them bad PR. It will also lead to less panic buying.

Agree with this - everyone just quietly make your choice and move on. Both sides equally obnoxious here...

I just sold tickets on Ticketmaster and learned that they wont give me my money until a week AFTER the show. That's in 5 months! Urgh I stopped using Stubhub last year because of this new practice but it looks like TM adopted it too.
