AAR was supposed to be on the Offspring tour? I thought they were originally going to do their own amphitheater tour with Jacks Mannequin and Say Anything.

Regardless, smart money move on their part. Pretty cool that AAR is gonna be in football stadiums

Honestly AAR will have a bigger appeal at the Jonas tour than with The Offsrping. Definelty the best choice for them.

They were booked on the Offspring tour but dropped it around the same time as the WWWY fallout.

One of the Jonas Brothers also posted about the Maine not too long ago (I think it was Blame they posted) so they definitely enjoy at least some of this.

Kinda cool to see all these acts that were clowned on pretty hard by scene kids (Jonas, Avril, etc) now hitting the nostalgia circuit and bringing out bands that would’ve never toured with them 15-20yrs ago.

I've been saying that for a while as well. Simple Plan would have LOVED to tour with Sum 41 and New Found Glory in 2002-03 but for some reason the scene had that weird divide.

Chiodos canceled last nights performance after 3 songs. Needless to say this will probably be an interesting tour to watch

i had heard they were planning a move along 20 tour with 3 openers. SA i heard but not JM. i think the idea was everyone had anniversaries to celebrate. considering their jonas dates aren't until october, and are vaguely middle america, AAR headline could still be in play.

Jimmy Eat World and New Found Glory opening for The Offspring seems like such a waste. Feel like those two (JEW and NFG) could team up for their own tour and sell out 3-4k venues vs playing sheds that are papering the venue. The crossover between The Offspring and the other two bands just...dose not seem to be there. And I say that as someone who likes all 3 but I feel like it's not as common.

Take the payday while they're both working on new albums and then headline in the winter. I dig it.

Weezer/The Offspring would have been the appropriate shed tour, btw.

This has to happen eventually, right? That is a solid pairing right there

No way there isn’t plenty of crossover between Offspring/JEW/NFG fan. My entire friend group from high school is reuniting to go the Toronto date together because of how much we listened to all three bands together way back when. I’d wager most people in their 30s or 40s who like pop punk had at the very least a casual interest in 2/3 of the lineup if not the whole package

The pairing might sound kind of weird in theory, but when you consider that all three bands were peak in the early 2000’s on rock radio, it’s a great lineup

Yeah I guess I've always associated The Offspring more with the skate punk/Epitath flavor of bands and/or radio rock vs the "scene" that JEW/NFG cater to. Honestly, if I was in charge of Live Nation shed direction, I would have moved Rise Against to The Offpsring tour and probably had Papa Roach team up with like...Breaking Benjamin.

I'll eat crow on the Sleep Token tour and admit I'm out of touch, so my new rule from now on is if the band members wears masks then they're probably going to sell out.

Whenever I hear people say things like "there's no rock/metal arena bands anymore or big headliners" these are the things I think about.
