gel has been my number one band the last year and half or so. brutal to hear, i feel for the 4 OGs getting screwed by the creep. got to see them 3 times (opened for drain, headliner at that same club the next year, & riotfest) and was about to be a 4th on the spiritbox tour... probably selling that ticket as they were my main draw. selfishly hope they start fresh somewhere down the line, such a unique bouncy groove to their sound.

and of course it happens just as my ETID wounds had started to heal!

back in my 6 band events were just called your normal local show now it’s called a fest smh

 

Pure speculation BUT with turnstile or deafheaven’s return and new EP announced from youth code, I could see youth code opening for either of those bands. They had so much hype pre-pandemic. Curious to see if it will still translate

Dude was also the primary songwriter for Gel by all accounts...I sure as hell wouldn't want to keep playing someone else's songs if they exploited and abused me like that.

Also with them being on Sumerian now they're an easy pick for that Miss Mayhem tour Ash Avildsen wants to put on.

 

Welp, I got butt rammed with Sleep Token tickets. AXS froze and then kicked me out the queue. Then once I got in no pit as I expected, and bunch of $300 premium seats

I was unaware of both of these points. Didn't see it posted anywhere but I deleted it anyway.

 

But I think that's just the thing. Like yeah a 6-7+ bill of mostly locals I would consider just a normal show. But like if most of the bands are touring bands then I'd consider it a fest. Like Dying Wishmas was definitely a fest to me.

It used to sell out like this every year. And they used to put tickets on sale before the lineup. Some years only took 20 min. It’s been 10 years since anything like this has happened.

took roughly 40 min it sell to sell out of 4 day passes

 

One off weekday show for hit the lights in NNJ for IMO their best album? Ok cool
