What tax purpose does playing Pittsburgh have?

 

Probably rehearsal/cheaper hotels for crew before going to NYC

 

Less likely but could also be a tourism tax break thing. Get people traveling into town for the shows to spur business, etc.

Already committed to Ocean’s Calling but Shaky Knees the weekend before is so tempting. Are festival tickets (esp ones with MCR) still dropping closer to the date? Skipped presale but not sure if it’ll sell out/worth buying and selling later

 

Plus Pittsburgh’s proximity to some big college towns. Morgantown, Columbus, State College, and the entire northeast corner of Ohio.

not sure what her playing a show has to do with taxes but Pittsburgh rules and we have tax incentives for films shot here, no idea if she’s doing something like that or what

A friend who works at a couple thousand cap room in Nashville told me Alex G and MJ Lenderman have holds for fall dates separately. He also said yo la tango and another indie band of that size will be doing that room as a co-headliner

 

If you're in the area you should 100% go to this. They had a similar setup last year for the Drain show and it was so much fun
