Yeah MCR and Johnny Marr got me maybe going to SN. Hoping that means more Johnny Marr dates coming

I distinctly remember Sum 41 being on Muchmusic and they showed a clip of Simple Plan thanking them for opening so many doors for them as a Canadian band. Sum 41 basically said something along the lines of “we don’t like them but if kids like both bands that’s up to them” pre that coheadline tour with both bands, Deryck did an interview saying he said some stuff that caused a rift between the bands but realized it was childish and apologized and now they’re working/touring together.

I saw Sum 41 in the Does This Look Infected era and they made snide remarks about BOTH Avril and Simple Plan which is kinda funny in retrospect.

You and I may be the only ones in this thread who'll get this reference, but back in the day Simple Plan would get booked for Zootopia and Jingle Ball, while New Found Glory would get booked for Dysfunctional Family Picnic (twice) and Claus Fest. That pretty much sums up how different their respective scenes were haha

Haha, I DO remember that. So wild because "Head On Collision" could have totally been a Simple Plan song too at the time. The bigger discrepancy was K-Rock constantly making fun of Third Eye Blind in 97/98 (they didn't even add "How's It Going To Be" to their playlist, claiming it was too soft) yet booked them for Dysfunctional Family Picnic in 1998 .

Perfect. My go-to festival bud already committed to Riot, so looks like Shaky Knees is off the table for me.

I gotta imagine that Riot also snags Deftones, they're long overdue to headline the fest.

BTW, is Deftones just doing a full on arena tour with NO new material? That's quite a flex.

Correct. Although a new album is in the works and is expected to be out this year

This is their first tour since blowing up on TikTok. So they’re touring solely off that hype

Same, but for me it's the Saturday line-up that's bananas. Haha.

Damn, Panic and blink have me contemplating but I need to remind myself that last years fest was so expensive beyond just the tickets. Plus I'd rather see blink at their own headliner.

Haven’t been to WWWY, but buying tickets to Ocean’s Calling made me think about going to an expensive festival to see a more rare act that you would probably want to pay less to see headline.

Fountains of Wayne is that band that put me over the edge for Ocean’s, and I feel like WWWY cornered a lot of bands like that (The Forecast, Summer Set, etc)

(posted this at the same time as above ope smh)

They had like 90 minutes in 2023, so I'd expect the same. Maybe cut or or two deeper ones but largely the same.
