First two weekends are excellent. Bummed a friend is getting married the second weekend but will still try to make it out for the first.

WWE is easily the most expensive thing I go to now and it’s not even close

Rumors are swirling around that Sir Paul McCartney might be doing some more shows at Bowery this week. If you're able to hang out around the area today, I highly recommend it, although I gather other people might be thinking the same thing and are more than likely already there.

The show last night was fantastic between the great setlist and the absence of phones. With the exception of a few people with vapes, it's probably the closest you get to having a show in the 60s/70s. I got there about an hour before doors and was maybe number 10 in line, and even when the doors opened, it looked like the line for standby tickets was longer than the ticketholder line. The first few rows were a bunch of college students who somehow got into the building before everyone else, but I didn't really mind it. I made it to the fourth row so Paul was literally ten feet from me. Shockingly I didn't see any famous people there, or at least anyone I recognized. I was half expecting to see Jimmy Fallon.

At the end of the day, Paul's still got it. He's so charismatic even on his echelon of fame, regularly interacting with people screaming "I love you, Paul," and people shouting YEAH! to everything. At one point he said, "Alright, let's get it over with. Girls, give me a Beatles scream" and the crowd went crazy. It's fascinating to see a form of Beatlemania alive and well in 2025 with people running down the sidewalk 45 minutes after the show got announced and the number of people hanging outside the venue before and after the show hoping to get a glimpse of Paul. That's the part I didn't stick around for. The whole day was such a serendipitous moment that I'm going to be thinking about for a while.

In other news I'm totally hitting up that Ophelias tour. Great band!

Mayday already has a big headliner in the spring. They aren’t doing Sad Summer. I see that tour taking a year off or not happening at all in the future.

That’s pretty sick considering he’s a big fan of the band. I remember him talking about them a lot on Twitter
