They also love an excuse to wear a big dumb hat which the Lumineers in a outdoor shed is perfect for. Wife loves them so we see them any time they are nearby and it's usually a decent show. Can confirm we are straight and white though.

When I saw The Lumineers at Wrigley Field, I felt I was the only POC in the stadium lol

Looks like Nothington are teasing a reunion show at Punk Rock Bowling this year! Would be awesome if they added a few more fests later in the year (Riot Fest, Camp Punksylvania, and/or the Fest come to mind).

I don't follow her enough to know if this is common knowledge, but Chappel Roan's tour kicks off on May 17. No idea on tour dates or locations.

North America? Gotta be major markets and multiple nights in arenas. Really no other option at this piont.

Black Keys on Canceled Tour, Azoff Feud, New Album

Black Keys finally talk about their cancelled tour. A few things that I took away from this:

    1) I no longer believe acts when they say they have no involvement in ticket price and what not. They accept a fee and have to, at the very basic level, understand the promoter is going have to make that back on ticket sales.

    2) They lay a lot of blame on their management which I think is fair. Given their management likely has several interests, there is probably reasons to book them at certain festivals, certain arenas, etc which would probably normally work but if they've cooled off as a touring act, it's a disincentive to right-size the venue should Live Nation only work with arenas in certain areas.

    3) Patrick Carney seems like a difficult person to be around/work with, to say the least BUT it seems like the band has a realistic attitude about where they stand and what their fans are willing to pay which will hopefully help them avoid this in the future.

Ironic that the tour got cancelled and the album didn't perform well, as I feel like it was their most interesting album since El Camino.

Another band that I feel like is going in a similar downward trajectory is Kings of Leon. Albums and singles aren't charting like they used to, they downsized a bit on their most recent tour and even then I don't think it sold too great. I bet in a few years KOL + TBK team up for a co-headliner to get back in arenas.

wonder if this will be announced next week or the week after, definitely curious what that May date is, so far nothing is known about her headline touring or even anything about her new album

the 3,600 cap chicago theatre is very intimate. call me when mr. mumford wanders in off the street to plan an open mic at livewire.

I listened the other night and while it's not my favorite, I can't imagine a big Black Keys fan being like "Yuck this album sucks" as it really doesn't differ that drastically. KOL seems to be a band that can do sheds/arenas in major cities but like 5k at best in most cities. UK/Europe being a different story. BK/KOL would be a great shed team-up.

House of Protection is great. It’s Stevis and Aric from Fever 333 (and The Chariot and Night Verse)

"Intimate" is a relative term. I saw Green Day at my local HOB back in 2016 and that's a 2,425 capacity room. Not much smaller than 3k. And it definitely felt more intimate than seeing them at a ballpark.

For a band Mumford's size, as well as from the perspective of their fanbase, I'm sure 3k is pretty intimate.

Yeah these shows will be hot tickets. Mumford hasn't toured here since 2019.

It’s a perfect day for letting go... Supporter

Yeah the issue is those bands are like old enough to be legacy acts but aren’t young enough to be “hot” bands either. Gotta be a weird middle ground. I’m sure they will pop back up in like 10 years

They'll probably open for like Noah Kahan in NFL stadiums at some point and Noah Kahan will say "Mumford & Sons is the whole reason I picked up a guitar" or something.

I checked the UK dates and it's completely sold out, I think she's one of those artists that's still a big draw and can sell out arenas overseas but struggling to sell in the states

Yeah, this. I think the only band from this era that is still doing relatively well is Cage The Elephant. They did arenas and big amps on their summer tour last year. Although… bringing Young The Giant out might’ve helped

If 5/17 is indeed the start date, I’m curious how many dates she does in the U.S. before going to Spain for Primavera Sound in early June.

The Chappell Roan thing, based off the nail email, is from last year. Said the tour was kicking off 5/17/24.
