I’m bummed the only CA shows are fests. Devo is a top-tier bucket list band for me and I’m dying to see them

 

I'm going to the Pasadena fest they're playing at. I'm excited to cross them and a couple others off my bucket list.

 

I’d love to hit that one up, but I’m already seeing They Might Be Giants that night. Oh well!

More CAKE announcements must be coming because this 2nighter popped up on my fb feed but no mention of it by the band yet

 

I would say that could be true, except on Orlando's lineup. The Starting Line comes after that space. So it may actually be another "The" band.

 

What's the deal with Cake these days? They haven't released new material since 2011, their social media feeds used to be full of political posts which have seemingly stopped. Have they fully just settled into heritage act mode?

One of my favorite albums from last year, well worth seeing her if you can

 

Fair to say. I think that group has had tension for a while and the singer's always hated touring so... I think these short runs and festival dates probably work nicely.

And they don't really need to have new music to pull that off. That said, I'm sure they'll release something new eventually. But they're certainly not on anybody's schedule but their own. LOL

They’ve been talking about releasing a new album for years now. Apparently they did debut a new song live last year and apparently they finally might drop a new album this year, but who knows.

At this point, they have enough hits and enough of a fanbase to where they can just do fests, mini tours and one-offs for the rest of their careers. And they seem fine with that. I’d also like to see them eventually

 

Them playing SLO and Ojai is nuts

 

Rilo Kiley where are those east coast dates

 

Maybe autumn? Maybe Riot Fest?

 

Heads up, I've seen the Boise date posted as "Treefort Music Festival" when it's actually Treefort Music Hall. I wish most of these weren't mid week.

 

I desperately need a venue show for them in Chicago, hope that happens regardless of Riot presence

 

Arctangent Festival in the UK have announced their line up besides the Thursday headliner TBA

 

I thought Mew were playing their farewell shows in May
