The Sleeping is such an underwhelming opener. I think they needed a much bigger draw in order to pack in two nights for most cities.

I think that's it, I never saw them ride the nostalgia wave as other bands. So Im surprised they are billed that high even when they had a massive radio hit.

Although the last tours I remember by them was with Wheatus and Everclear in 2021, and with Lit and Alien Ant Farm in 2022. So I kinda associate them with those type of bands (not a derogatory, I love AAF)

this interview was the first time i heard anyone talk about LN payments as a recoupable advance. as much as i pretend to understand their model, i still have no clue exactly what their deals entail, but i can only assume varies greatly depending on the artist. jon talking about "buying out" his contract leads me to wonder if he was with LN as management or at least some sort of extended live deal. As for most artists, their association with LN goes no further than whatever tour package LN has bought.

regardless of the exact details, what it comes down to is LN buys a tour package for a massive sum, puts it the bigger than necessary venues they own, and they make money on everything that happens inside it. so yes, they absolutely are the only ones who benefit, thats the whole point. but i would imagine there are exceptions if an artist is powerful enough.

if LP had any honest understanding of the risk of trying to replace chester, I would hope they expected worse!

That they booked multiple stadiums showed they're a little delusional!

Is Hawthorne heights contractually obligated to do every emo related fest?

Does anyone here subscribe to Veeps? I was just browsing through their catalog and there's a lot of pro shot full concerts on there that I'd love to watch. Most recent tours from Fall Out Boy, Underoath, Something Corporate, Bad Omes, Coldplay, Jimmy Eat World, St Vincent, Slipknot etc. Plus that new Poppy series.

Is it really just $5.99 per month, or do you then have to pay extra to order the concert? Seems like a steal considering most of these live streams cost like 20 bucks on their own. Also had no idea that Joel and Benji Madden own Veeps.

This is how I always understood the deal as well. They pay the act for a 25-30 date shed tour (as an example), the act and their team handle all touring/production costs and LN makes their money back via the ticket sales, concessions, parking, etc. I think the act may get a bonus for certain sellout metrics but whatever the ticket price you see is typically to pay the act's fee.

Waiting for the Milwaukee announcement…. Hope it’s not TBS for us. Love em but they are complete ass live.

  13. I got a 6-month sub for Christmas a couple years ago. Watched a handful of things (they have some good docs along with the all the concerts). If I recall, not everything that streams live goes to the on-demand service (the mewithoutYou final shows were the specific example that I remember), but a lot of stuff is there either at the same time or a little bit later. There was enough that I enjoyed having it, but never quite enough to keep me paying for it after the gift subscription was up.

Really stoked to see Sincere Engineer landing another strong opening slot! Smoking Popes is a cool get too. And while I'm not into Boston's opener... I get to see the Popes do Born To Quit at another show with OWTH instead. Hard to be mad at that, haha.

Would have no interest in night 2, but it's not coming to my city anyway!

I definitely prefer Bayside/Smoking Popes over Bayside/The Sleeping.

    Glad Austin gets SP.

Nothing in the DC area is a bummer. Philadelphia is the closest date, but that's on a Tuesday, so it'd be tough to swing.

This couldn’t have worked out any better. Smoking Popes rule, it’s on a Friday/Saturday at my favorite venue in Portland. Hell Yes!

I never really got into Bayside, but I’m considering the Anaheim show for the Popes
