  1. Why not? It’s like when you get in a car wreck. It’s not like they said “absolutely obliterated.”

Robert Smith said in an interview that plans for festivals next summer has been scrapped and The Cure will start touring again sometime next fall

Coldplay on sale for Toronto is a joke…not giving out codes was a big mistake. Sold through 200k tickets in about an hr of presale (they added 2 more shows, instantly gone).

Looks like they’ll literally be zero tickets available for the general sale.

Scaplers are making a killing on this one.

Probably out of the loop but I had no idea Coldplay had pull like that still

I thought two shows at a 50k-capacity venue would be the proper supply, was shocked to see them add 2 more and sell them all out.

Tbh a lot of people don’t realize how massive of a market Toronto is, easily on par with New York and LA.

Living like an hr away in Buffalo it makes it so much easier to see massive shows that skip smaller markets.

What I meant was I didn’t realize they could sell stadiums still let alone multiple nights in cities haha

Are they like...somehow MORE popular than they were 2 years ago? I remember they added a 2nd Metlife date in 2022 and if you wanted, you could easily get a GA Floor ticket days after the on sale.

I’ve been aware of Coldplay’s draw, but it still really shocks me. You’d never pin them as a stadium band

No presale codes and they are (for now) playing limited US cities so that could play into it as well....either way they are one of the biggest bands in the world so im not surprised...im sure there will be tons on secondhand markets though

Coldplay have been a bonafide stadium act for a while now. And I think the scaled down tour routing explains why they're able to get away with 2+ nights in most cities.

Waiting behind the almost 80,000 people to get Coldplay tickets. It's not going to happen.

Coldplay live is a truly grandiose experience, too. They've got legacy and performance locked in.

I was 6,800 in line for the general on sale, took 10mins to get through and nothing left.

That sucks! I got presale but that line is insane for both dates in Stanford, maybe i'll get lucky and snatch two tickets the day of the show for a decent price.

Andrew McMahon already sold out Red Rocks, was not expecting that almost 9 months in advance. Gonna need to keep an eye on resale, would see Jack’s wherever next year, but this feels like the perfect way to check Red Rocks off the list.

John // OC now, OH forever.

Cleveland folks, Dave Mackinder (Fireworks) announced a surprise acoustic show at Mahall's on Sunday. He'll be in the little apartment stage upstairs - should be a very fun and special one.

He's headlining a small DIY "festival" in Toronto as well. Didn't realize he was booking solo shows at all but could be very cool to see.

He turned up here in Anaheim opening for Forever Came Calling and Handguns a few months ago. Played a mix of Fireworks songs, Empty Houses songs, and solo stuff. Highly recommend seeing him if he's in the area.

I've had so many opportunities to see The Black Dahlia Murder being from Michigan, but haven't gotten to see them yet, so I'm looking forward to that gig.
