This is 2 hours away from me - I hardly go because it's hot and crowded (festival has to stop at 7 pm due to curfew) - but gonna try to see Vampire Weekend depending on what day they play

 

I know nothing about the New Orleans Jazz Fest, but how is Juvenile and Mannie Fresh not a headliner? Especially in New Orleans.

Juvenile just played a 500 capacity room last weekend near my house, and it didn't sell out until like the week of

Juvenile's NPR tiny desk was amazing though

 

Gotta say the old people festivals imo are killing it this year....Shaky Knees, Jazzfest, and even Bottlerock

 

That's because we're the old people now.

 

I’m surprised at the curfew considering it’s New Orleans. I was always under the impression that it was a party city and stuff like this went into the late evening

 

How do they host the Super Bowl in a town like that? Or have sports at all there?

 

It is a bit odd but there is tons of stuff going on in the city till as late as your heart desires

 

Jazz Fest is at the Fairgrounds which is in the middle of a residential neighborhood - you can legally drink in the cemeteries at 2 in the morning on a Wednesday, there's aftershows that last to like 4 in the morning but Jazz Fest always ended early for as long as I can remember

got me hinterland festival tickets this morning, first festival lineup thats blown me away in a while, couldnt miss it!

 

Jazzfest's lineups always look great on paper, until I realize it's spread out over 10 days.

 

Kings Of Leon aren't a bad replacement. i’d be psyched ‍♂️

The Plot in You and Invent, Animate did a last minute show in Michigan last night since the Buffalo date of the Beartooth tour got cancelled.

 

Flaming Lips/Death Grips tour when?

That would be incredible. The Flaming Lips had one of the best live performances I’ve ever seen and Death Grips are one of my favorite bands.

 

I couldn't even tell you who Mannie Fresh is (never heard that name in my life) and the only song I know from Juvenile is back that azz up from like 25 years ago?
