I was seeing all but Taylor and it was going to be a perfect year :(
Had pit tickets for Hella Mega and Halsey.
Also had The Weeknd tix. Ugh
I was lucky and manage to go to several shows before lockdown:
Heilung, Poppy, Echosmith, Knuckle Puck, Kanye West Sunday Service, Beach Bunny (x3), Dashboard Confessional w/ The Get Up Kids (x2) and Every Time I Die
I had tickets for The Wonder Years, Hayley Williams, Rage Against The Machine, Hella Mega Tour, Riot Fest. I still have the tickets for the last 3 mentioned.
My last shows before lockdown were two nights in a row of Chris Farren & Macseal in February.
Last I checked I had tickets for My Chemical Romance (x9), Against Me (x5), Front Bottoms (x2), Alkaline Trio, and Georgia Maq.
I saw Beartooth, Half Moon Run, Tim & Eric, Devin Townsend, and Silent Planet this year
I was supposed to see Pearl Jam, Deafheaven, Dance Gavin Dance, Killswitch/ABR, Circa Survive, The 1975, Slipknot, Hayley Williams, Spanish Love Songs, City and Colour, The Black Keys, Jason Isbell, Megadeth, Primus, Sad Summer, RATM, Hella-Mega Tour, Deftones, Rammstein, MCR, Riot Fest, and probably way more after that
The last “show” I was at was a Roy Orbison/Buddy Holly hologram concert. My little brother and I were the youngest people there, for suuuuure. We won tickets.
But just a couple days before that, he and I saw The Early November. Weird contrast haha.
But yeah, both of those shows were in October 2019. This is the longest I’ve gone without seeing a show since I was like 15 years old aka over half my life ago. So strange...
Saw three shows in 2020: Thrice, Beach Bunny, and Ratboys. Dustin from Thrice was extremely sick during his show and they played a shorter set and that proved to be an omen for the year.
The Circa Survive date for Cleveland got moved to 2022
That Circa news actually has me super happy. It sucks it's still so far away, but now I have a date on the calendar for a show that will actually (almost) definitely happen. It feels great to actually be able to look forward to it.
So with vaccines starting to be administered, when do we all think the world and in turn the live music world will return to something that resembles "normal"? I'm thinking fall 2021.
My music friends in the indoor venue world say they’re being offered shows for August onward
As an "insider" in the music industry, I do believe Fall 2021 is a very fair guess. Honestly, shocked I am even thinking of anything before 2022 but the speed of the vaccine roll-out is phenomenal. Let's hope it is safe, etc.
I’m thinking everything starts again august 2021
I really hope for August 2021. So I can go to the Hella Mega Tour and Riot Fest
Feels like this goes here
Congress allocates $15 billion to independent theaters and concert venues as part of new relief package
I bought access to the Jimmy Eat World album streams, & did not expect the receipt to say "Danny Wimmer Presents" on it... guess I missed that on the flyer
When Will Live Music Return?
Yeah, we’re a ways away, folks.
The guy/promoter behind a ton of those huge US rock festivals. Aftershock, Sonic Temple, Welcome to Rockville, Epicenter, Louder than Life, etc.
NZ really just having full on concerts now?
Yeah, they've completely eradicated the virus there.
They have had sports events in stadiums with people and concerts for a few weeks now (or maybe even months). I think Australia is almost there too
I did not know that. Must be nice living in a place where people take orders seriously to get back to normalcy in a timely manner.
