Oh fuck I would go to this. If it wasn’t for This Is Us I’d feel like these venues were a little too big though? Am I crazy?

Damn, that is stacked. I think this is what Austin Terror Festival used to be called. Last year was rather diverse and this lineup already is looking that way.

WCAR says they'll never play any songs from TPAS again after the 10 Year Tour, which seems a bit extreme. Anyone know why?

i thought it sounded like this would be the last tour where the album is played in full

I really hate when bands take such extreme measures like this. The Word Alive did the same thing with Deceiver after they did the 10 (9 year technically) with it. Like why never play any songs from one of your most popular albums anymore? It would be one thing if they made a drastic stylistic change like Hundredth did, but they really didn't have that drastic of a change. And the whole "we have X amount of albums now! We have to make room in our set!" is a pretty weak excuse when bands like August Burns Red and Parkway Drive are still fitting I'm 2-3 songs from Messengers and Horizons in normal headline sets and they're both like 6-7 albums deep by this point.

I assume with WCAR it’s to do with Kyle passing.

From that perspective I could see it being justifiable. But does that then open up the rest of their discography to be blacklisted from future sets, when they release their first album without Kyle?

If the band continues long enough I’m sure they’ll play them again. But it’s the same deal with sooo many bands in that scene. I was shocked to see Our Last Night pull Across The Ocean our for their current tour. I See Stars hasn’t played a song from their first two records since shortly after New Demons was released.

I have maintained for a long time that every headline artist should throw in a song from every album unless the show is an anniversary show or the band has like a stupid number of albums. It would make every era of fan attending a show happy to some extent.

I don't know anything about Our Last Night or I See Stars, but I know some bands may ignore certain albums themselves if they don't care for the album they wrote themselves anymore. Some bands may be in a different mindset when they wrote an album and now vehemently disagree or improved at their songwriting (in their own personal opinion) and now have no desire to play those older songs live even if it could turn a profit. Every band is different though, but I can understand why some bands retire certain albums.

Totally understand from WCAR's perspective wanting to move on from TPAS. If the goal is to continue as a band and thrive with just Dave, maybe that means a new era for them and thus wanting to move past those songs.

I'm with you, the second Turnover released Peripheral Vision they stopped playing anything before that album. Jimmy Eat World almost always does the one song from every album thing while still playing a lot of whatever their newest record is. And it's always perfect

I agree with this except for Bring Me The Horizon but I don't really think we need to go into why.
