Mayday can sell out 750-1000 cap rooms on their own, they are fine
I wonder if they will play a short encore set after? They'll be tons of their own fans there. Also, that page seems to imply that there will be other bands doing this in the future. I could see this easily becoming a thing. Makes more sense than "emo nite la" doing a tour tbh
Crystal Lake will be back in the states in 2020.
Electric Wizard and Midnight will hit the U.S. this fall with the following East Coast tour booked together:
11/15 St. Petersburg, FL – Janus Landing
11/16 Atlanta, GA – The Tabernacle
11/18 Silver Spring, MD – The Fillmore
11/19 Brooklyn, NY – Brooklyn Steel
11/20 Philadelphia, PA – The Fillmore
11/22 Worcester, MA – The Palladium
Guessing they'll be on the FFAK headliner
We've been long overdue for a FFAK A/B market headliner
There are very few similarities between SDRE and Mayday Parade, but "Pop Punk Night" isn't as catchy as "Emo Night".
There is a massive portion of mayday (and insert mid-00s warped tour band) fans who are late 20s/early 30 year olds who go to their 3 shows a year so they can get drunk with friends and be nostalgic about high school. Only makes sense to drive that point home and play a bunch of covers that the people coming to see you wanna hear
Y’all so mad Mayday wants to do something different and have a lil fun on this tour.
If you don't want to see them play covers just don't go.
Their set is still very first album heavy, I’d def be pretty bored of playing a bunch of those songs for close to 15 years. I’ve never had a bad time at a Mayday show,& this upcoming “emo” cover set in Brooklyn will probably be a blast
Yeah, I'd think that you could find a LOT worse bands to cover some of these songs. Mayday's always been pretty solid live and feels like they could do the songs justice. One need only look at Neck Deep or All Time Low's AP Awards medley performances for proof that done right, this could be a lot of fun.
Anyone know how the performance licensing works for something like this?
Chris Farren/Retirement Party are touring together in February.
The 1975 tour announcements tomorrow
they did say there will be a few mayday songs but mostly covers
Aren't Dead American the band of the guy who used to sing for Saosin? That's one weird opener for Eve 6...
They are indeed! Realized that right after I posted it, and you're right - very weird.
If it was someplace close to me i would have gone for sure. Love both bands.
I might be wrong but i think Bowling for Soup are teasing a 15 year tour for “A Hangover you don’t deserve”.
Praying it’s tied in with those Less Than Jake dates they’re doing.
I don't think I've seen another tour with 3 Montana dates
