Looks like The Acacia Strain is starting to enter into "do a 10 year tour for every album" territory.

Fuck 10 year tours. just because you have 3 popular songs off 1 album doesn’t mean people wanna hear the whole thing.

 

It also can kill your draw forever for some people. Like I only like the first have mercy album, the played it in full after 5 years. Now I never have to see have mercy again.

 

I still haven't seen Acacia Strain (they always conflicted with other bands at Warped Tour), but a Wormwood tour would pretty much solidify me going finally.

 

If people don't want to hear the whole thing, then why do so many bands do it? It might not be for you, but these things seem to be working for most bands.

 

What about the less popular songs that don't get played or haven't since the album released? It's an excellent time to catch songs you love that you haven't heard before or haven't heard in years.

 

Basically every 10 year tour I've seen has done very well. I think for certain bands it is true that it will kill their draw though. The Acacia Strain puts out pretty consistent material that has appealed to their fanbase throughout their career. But I really don't know if Suicide Silence has done much better draw wise since doing The Cleansing 10 year, just based solely on the fact that they've polarized so many of the people that came up around that albums release.

 

Speaking of 10 year tours, i was wondering what would happen next year. We know August Burns Red are planning one for Constellations, and Miss May I spoke about doing something for Apologies. Would be cool if BTBAM did something for The Great Misdirect and/or (extremely wishful thinking since they havent been so active) Job For A Cowboy with Ruination.

 

the protest the hero 10 years have been so fun. I caught the kezia 10 and it was great. Missed the 10 year Fortress tour, but I would've loved to catch it. That's a band that could do full album tours and still bring in fans to catch the normal sets since their catalogue is so deep

 

10 year tours are tacky, but you won't see me complaining if I really love the album, especially if it's an album that's typically underrepresented in the set.

Or if you're Circa Survive. I don't mind it if you're Circa Survive.

I don't see BTBAM doing one for TGM. Great record but it wasn't as impactful as Colors.

A 10 Year tour for Periphery II by Periphery in 2022 would make me all kinds of happy.

 

I would go to multiple dates of a 10 year tour for the first Periphery album. One of the most nostalgic albums of all time for me

 

I feel it's very likely we get a Homesick 10 year tour.

 

I’m going to be insanely bummed if we don’t considering we didn’t get shit for FTWHH

 

I don’t think that ADTR will do a full 10 year tour maybe a couple shows but not a full tour
