Waterparks tour is playing a few 1000-1300 cap rooms & OOR's seems to average about 900-1100 cap rooms (like Waterparks' is bigger in Houston)

It's not a wide trend, but is glaring in some markets.

EDIT: Just realized Waterparks isn't on the Houston/San Antonio/Denver/SLC OOR shows, so nevermind, this is an invalid criticism cause those are the cities their headliner goes to.

One Ok Rocks show in Orlando is 2800 cap vs about 450 cap for the Waterparks headliner. It seems too big to me.

I saw New Medicine headline once, and I dragged my mom, my friend, and my friend's boyfriend with me. There were two or three other women there to see New Medicine, and everybody else in the venue was either in one of the local bands or they were there for one of the local bands.

TBF, from what I've heard Waterparks draws like 200, they just play in large rooms

They've sold out 5 dates of their current tour
    Orlando - 350
    Bloomington (Castle Theater) - 1000
    Cleveland (Agora Ballroom) - 650
    Lancaster (Chameleon Club) - 1000
    Pomona (Glasshouse) - 800

And they were upgraded venues in two cities.

They're doing really well on this tour, and honestly as small as a scene as pop-punk is, even though they're not the biggest band in the scene, they have the most forward momentum. (And that's not me just being a total fangirl either; I admit Awsten's ego is getting out of hand & their last album as less than stellar, but they're still incredibly hard workers who deserve their success)

    Chameleon doesn’t hold 1000, it’s pretty small. I know Wikipedia says a 1000 for some reason, but I’m pretty sure it’s 650.

Waterparks are headlining Starland Ballroom (2,000 cap) in NJ, but they'll probably draw around 600 people. The promoter can cut the max cap for their shows. OOR are doing around 1,500 - 2,000 cap venues. They're playing Terminal 5 (3,000 cap) in NYC. OOR have no problem drawing huge crowds.

One ok rock is playing the same venue waterparks played last winter here (1000 cap), but it didn't sell out so it doesn't seem too unusual

Tonight Alive with The Downtown Fiction, Echosmith, and For the Foxes couldn’t have had more than fifteen people there. I Prevail/dangerkids coheadliner was roughly the same

  10. Does One Ok Rock do that well? I don’t think they sold out Playstation Theater last time they were in NYC.

Agora Ballroom is 450 now actually but they still sold it out super early and probably could have done like 1000

People around here are pretty lukewarm toward them from what I've seen. I'm definitely a fan, though, and more than a bit bummed they're opening for the Dropkick Murphys (again). Would have preferred a headliner... But I get it. It's a good opportunity and all that.

I watched Allison Weiss last month play to 12 people in Lansing. They said it still wasn’t the smallest drawing date of the tour.

Also watched This Twilight City play a record shop in Mt. Pleasant, MI to less than 10 people in 2010.

  16. I saw Civil Twilight play to about ten people at an 800 cap venue. No idea what happened with promoting that show. At the time the venue had a setup where the floor was 21 plus and the balcony was all ages, but the staff just let my friends and I onto the floor when they realized that we were basically the only ones to show up. The band seemed to take it in stride and played great regardless, but I still think about how much of a bummer that must have been for them.

John // OC now, OH forever.

Smallest I've seen in a while is probably Aaron West/Alison Weiss/Crooked Teeth in Oakland a year or two ago with about 30-40 people there.

Crazy, the Buffalo date of this tour did 250+ when I went and we're a B market. Weird!

They did two nights at Playstation Theater last summer. They're popular as hell like most Japanese acts out there.
