I don't mind it actually. I prefer tours being announced earlier rather than later because it gives me the ability to plan around it and schedule my life. It also give Fickle Friends ample time to make sure everything is in check for an international tour (visas, travel arrangements, etc.)

I might go to the Kansas City date of the DGD tour. It's on a Sunday, and I have family down there.

Yea I'm not complaining. Just very unusual, and on the flip side it's hard for me to truly commit to something in October in March, but I guess like you said, at least it gives time to plan.

Why would you skup warped for lolla the Chicago date and #Lolla are 2 weeks apart unless your coming from out of state you can do both. I’m doing warped foo fighters and all 4 days of lolla that’s 3 weekends I’m a row of concerts plus Pearl Jam a few weeks after lolla then after that fall out boy and riot fest back to back weekends. Granted I’m from Chicago so I can do it

I'm so upset that this is finally making it to Canada when Sugar Ray haven't been on Summerland in years.

I have never been a fan, but when they opened for Asking Alexandria and Born of Osiris the crowd went apeshit for them, and their last headliner sold out here in Philly and some other cities. They still have a pretty devoted fan base. They just have taken longer breaks between albums and tours and don’t get the same kind of coverage they once got.

They announced a Europe tour, but another band who I think was rumored to be touring with them posted that they had an announcement today at 2est. I forget who it was

Treehouse had jams top to bottom. The singles seem to have comparable Spotify plays to their other albums, although I haven’t seen much of any discussion about them since the album dropped in 2016. I definitely thought Treehouse was miles better than what their general peers have been putting out.

Treehouse is my favorite album by them and they always put on a kickasss live show.

It’s spring now, which means it’s time for Summer Slaughter speculation :P

I wonder who will headline this year

    The Real Dirty Dan.

Nothing extravagant, but I’d guess Cannibal Corpse. TBDM and Dying Fetus did last year, Morbid Angel has a spring tour, Lamb of God and Behemoth touring with Slayer. Not too many other big “extreme” bands I can see headlining.

Probably not going to be Cannibal Corpse unless the time frame the tour is going to be held is different this year. They're playing a fest In Europe the first weekend in August.

Some of the bands from Heavy Montreal will be on it for sure but if I had to guess the headliner I'd go with BTBAM as weird as that sounds. Was thinking Gojira too but they're too big I feel like.

    The Real Dirty Dan.

Summer Slaughter was later in the year last year. TBDM played an off-date show in Jacksonville, NC in early September. So, I wouldn’t rule them out quite yet.

Gojira would be sick, but that’d be a huge band for a tour like this unless they move to larger cap venues. But BTBAM and Nile are realistic.

are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

I think we can rule them out.. Summer Slaughter was held July 27th through August 26th last year. Cannibal Corpse's upcoming tour schedule has them in Europe the entire summer sans a few gaps here and there (http://cannibalcorpse.net/tour-dates/). They've also got a Latin/South American tour scheduled from Sep 9th to Oct 7th.

So unless Summer Slaughter is a shorter run this year, different dates, or having bands play partial dates ala Warped, they're not playing it.

Gojira aren't likely either based on their current tour dates (unless they're playing a Impact Music Fest on 7/28 in Bangor, ME as an off date. They're much more likely though as they have a decent window between supporting Iron Maiden in Spain on 7/14 and a Polish festival date on 8/2. But that's still likely too short of a window for a month long tour like Summer Slaughter.

BTBAM are likely a given on Summer Slaughter this year. They have one summer date announced so far (Heavy MTL)...so yeah.

I feel like Power Trip will be on it too even though they are touring in the spring.
