Yeah I think it's a way to get some $$ for a few days and earn interest among those who are rejected but who knows.

 

I’m in the camp where I’m only interested in seeing them if they do the first two albums. I will never understand why certain people here are so anti-album play shows

 

I'm not anti-album play shows but I just think given how common it is the novelty has worn off and it seems like a cheap way to drive ticket sales. Also, I'm old as fuck so any album I really cared about, I probably saw the band tour it in its era.

 

thoroughly confused as to how I'm on the internet 16 hours a day every day and was unfamiliar with the name Tate McRae until the news of this tour today. wtf

 

I think he was also announced today for SNL. TBH I barely recognize most of the names on SNL these days.

 

Yeah it’s always a trip for me to see stuff like this. I always considered myself “in the know” of big acts, even if I didn’t like them/listen to them. But the past couple years, I’m seeing these bands/acts/singer I’ve never even heard of pop up and headline arenas. It’s weird.

I was fully expecting Tate McRae to be a country artist after starting on this page. I was very surprised when I worked my way backwards.

But yeah, I’ve fully accepted I’m out of the loop for much of these artists who seemingly blow up out of nowhere.

 

I saw 4 album plays in September, & I've got 6 in the next month. I'd be fine with a million more

On the topic of album play shows, I have to imagine that The Killers will do something for Hot Fuss next year. I am still butthurt over the time I saw them on the Hot Fuss tour and they skipped THREE songs off their one record to play b-sides.

 

Potentially unpopular take but... I like the b-sides from that session more than I like at least 50% of the actual album.

That's not an unfair take but at the time, I wasn't as much of a b-side collector so for them to skip Everything Will Be Alright and Believe Me Natalie for the sake of, like, a cover and a b-side I wasn't familiar with while also only playing 12 songs at a very quickly sold out NYC Summerstage show was just an odd choice. They barely filled an hour set length-wise.

 

with the exception of "who let you go" (sorry, its droning), every single b-side should have been on that album. cut "andy you're a star" (sorry, assuming your name is andy. not personal!) and "everything will be alright" and youd have wall to wall bangers, imho.

 

Tate McRae went from playing 100 person venues to MSG in literally 2 years. Did I miss a hit or something? Is she a TikTok artist?

 

Yes and yes

She has a hit “greedy” that plays all over tik tok, and I hear it on the radio at work all the time too

 

Saw Tate McRae play an early set at Gov Ball in 2021. She had significant star power even then so her ascent is now surprising to me.

 

I'll definitely be at that Tate show @ madison square garden, her stage presence is nuts and shes just gonna stay on the rise.

 

Re: the Jeff tour, Georgia Maq got added since Gel dropped off.

 

Good for Gel finally taking some time off. They've been on the road non stop for basically 2 years lol
