The fact that it's leading up to Sick New World makes me doubt it's a full US tour. Is there any reason they may not be able to announce other dates at this point?

I tend to assume the reason artists like that don't come back to places they sell well in with large frequency is that if they did come back more frequently it would decrease the draw.

Speaking of tours I wish would hit the states…

100%. That's why Blur and Stone Roses were both able to sell out Madison Square Garden (and I think Hollywood Bowl?) when they each toured the states in 2015-2016.
I feel like Liam would be a larger draw than all of them so he could do it a little more frequently. UNLESS he's been forgoing the US for the last few years in hopes the demand built up would warrant arena bookings for these Definitely Maybe dates...

I’m hoping the reason why he’s been holding back from coming here is to try to build up hype for a Morning Glory tour in 2025…

Also, when’s Blur coming back here? I’ve been obsessing with their discography lately and I love the new album. I’m dying to see them

The Killers just announced a show at Emo’s Austin on Wednesday, tickets go on sale Wednesday morning. 1700 capacity.

Idk what the right thread to post about this is but I saw Emma from Dying Wish reposted it so I was curious what the community consensus is. Basically the repost said that if they’re breaking even, they should take on merch responsibilities instead of complaining about their merch crew from the green room. Jay’s comments are turned off (lol) but I’m in agreement with Emma. It doesn’t make sense to me to hire a merch person if you’re breaking even — doesn’t sound like the band can afford it. Tesseract isn’t huge but they shouldn’t be on tour if they’re not making money.

If this is already being talked about in another thread please redirect me, I did a quick search but didn’t come up with anything

I feel like it's a well-known fact that if you're tipping someone, the money is going to the person that helped you, just like any customer service position. Not to mention, a merch person is doing so much more than handing someone a shirt. They're loading in boxes upon boxes of shirts, sweatshirts, vinyl, etc. They're running inventory, keeping track of everything that gets sold, and making sure the numbers are right. They're also giving up their time to be on the road, and it's always entirely optional if a fan gives them a tip. If they're not happy with that setup, they need to either run merch yourselves or set something up with whoever they're taking out to split tips, which I guarantee no one working in merch would ever accept.

tl;dr Tesseract opinion is dumb and deserves to be dunked on

FWIW The Chicago date has "TBA" listed above Souldblind and Teenage Wrist so it might be someone bigger than them

Really wish Austin got Spy or Gridiron. But might check this out either way.

Teenage Wrist and Spy are my doods, so this is exciting for me.

And I watched Code Orange's Outbreak set and enjoyed it so I think I'll be there

Philly has it listed second, and that date has Gridiron so def seems like the TBA is direct support. So obviously looking at who is on your? Pain of Truth?

Teenage Wrist sounded awesome when I walked by their stage at Furnace Fest, this is a cool tour.

Also assuming a lot of these rooms are going to get upgraded.

I always tip the merch people and I've never once done so with the intent being for the money to go to anyone but the person I interacted with. Are they also going to share their profit from the sale of the merch with the person running the merch? My guess is no.

Sounds like Tesseract is going to have trouble looking for merch people in the future. And honestly for any smaller band (i.e. they're playing clubs or small theaters, or the smaller support slot on a bigger tour) I'll always tip. But for an arena act. I assume you're already getting paid quite well or work for the venue.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Our Last Night is going on tour, and it's the most unoriginal yet.
