A festival with this sort of "theming" feels far more sustainable in terms of having unique acts/headliners each year. Just because there's headliners from the 80s they could tap into (e.g., the Cure, Duran Duran) as well as the standard 90s/2000s but there's also a few acts from the 2010s and beyond that would be primed for "nostalgia" sooner than most of us might like to admit, hah.

TBH, I'm hoping it's a tour and some vinyl.

Oh totally. There’s tons of current bands they could grab. Plus, there would be a solid mix of different groups from all eras. 2010’s (Car Seat Headrest, etc), 2000’s (Wolf Parade, New Pornographers), and 90’s (Superchunk, Archers Of Loaf, etc.)

Something like that could easily go on for a few years.

Someone posted the whole set. They are changing the setlist every night and doing some deep cuts too. I would strongly recommend trying to catch them as a headliner unless you only like the hits.

Also, to anyone how has every been at the Forge in Joliet, have you ever seen anything crazier in that venue than what is happening starting at the 39 minute mark?

    Here is the setlist:

Exactly! I think that's one of the things that Sick New World really did right (in contrast to WWYF which I think is going to hit a problem with next year's line-up, TBH). It's not limited by the late 90s/early 2000s era. That's inarguably where the bulk of the headliners are going to come from... But the undercard last year was loaded with hard rock, hardcore, industrial, darker-edged hip-hop and such from the present back to the 80s.

The one issue I see with the idea of a similarly niche indie festival, though, is that the headliners are probably the same headliners the promoters could put on another LiveNation festival that's already set-up and will likely draw just as much if not more. Like, the Strokes or Yeah Yeah Yeahs generally play most of the bigger festivals anyway, y'know? It would be cool but... It's not like there's a big gap that needs to be filled in the marketplace for them (in contrast to WWYF or SNW).

Also, wtf is up with the placing of the bands on the posters? Bands I have never heard of are above nu-metal gods like Taproot, Fear Factory, Nonpoint and more

It's funny to see the crossover between this and WWWY. MIW, INK, Kittie, BMTH and maybe some more I have missed

not even close, given the Metal landscape currently they got all the current up and comers, Lorna, Ice Nine, Knocked Loose, Dayseeker, Drain, Bad Omens, Sleep Token, plus SOAD and Slipknot. This is a huge lineup!

I was hoping they would go deeper into the nu-metal era, they went into a totally different direction

Yep I've been checking out all their setlists. I've been a pretty big fan for about 20 years now so I would love to hear some deep cuts. There's nu metal bands I can't really listen to anymore (Adema and Dope for example) but Taproot aged well imo.

    idk man

It feels like last year's when we were young and sick new world lineups smushed together

  23. I'll take your word for it I guess haha!

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

I think just Knocked Loose and Black Veil Brides. So 6 WWWY bands
