I was like “250th” in line at 10am and still didn’t get tickets. What a broken system they have over at TM

well they did say "for whoever" not something like "for all of you stupid motherfuckers questioning boygenius at msg" lol

oh I know, I just meant that sometimes there is an opinion of one that becomes the narrative on here. That’s all, like I never heard of boygenius but I was like if people say they will sell out MSG then I guess they will sell out MSG.

Never any doubt that show would do well, especially with Muna opening. Surprised a second night wasn't added.

Maybe they’ll add one later today? I’m seeing people posting about how they got shut out for tickets so there’s definitely a demand for an additional show.

Given the large gaps on their schedule, I'm anticipating them to add another MSG and Hollywood Bowl show.

The fact that they can sell out these iconic large venues just 4 months after their summer tour is amazing. 2nd nights would be crazy impressive. So cool to see the success they're experiencing.

Hope this means Julien's next solo album gets a big response!

Did that ReSet fest/tour not do well? I could imagine there would be more demand for a basic boygenius headliner than them on a touring festival like that. I imagine ticket sales were fueled by people that decided to skip that fest

Nah it sold poorly, which was interesting to me because it costs about the same as nosebleeds at the Hollywood bowl, and that sold out instantly

The Chicago date for boygenius reset sold out, and I know that was the case for some others too but I’m not sure about all of the shows.

Makes me wonder if a midwest set of shows will be added at all.

I think the Boygenius date was the only Reset date to sell out in NYC.

Yeah for NYC the Boygenius day of reset sold out pretty quickly. A 14,000 capacity venue. Not sure how the LCD day sold, but I know the Steve Lacey day they were giving away free tickets the week of.

LCD headlining that, particularly in NYC, was kind of a bad idea given they did two residencies in 2021 and 2022 and did like 30+ shows

That Steve Lacey bump to headliner was wayyyyy too premature. He doesn’t have the live show of a headliner yet, and I think people over estimate how popular The Internet is/was.

Live nation doing another sale, $80 all in 4 packs. Pre sale July 18 through rakuten or allegiant. The good shows sold out quick last time. Can see some artists listed but can't see the shows on it till then.

Seeing artists book arenas these days seem to be a mixed bag. I love joji but I have no clue who thought it would be a good idea to have him book arenas. Carti seems to be another case of this. With Lil baby cancelling almost his entire tour due to these low ticket sales, I'm curious if the same is going to happen to more artists because there's no way these tours are happening the way they are now with these sales.

Surprised the maneskin tour hasn't been canceled yet. Ticket sales are bad.

I think the challenge with arenas is the shows (mostly) cost the same price across all cities yet average income/populations vary drastically. There’s enough people in NYC and LA who are willing to pay $150-200/ticket. Not sure it’s the same in places like Houston, Charleston, Sacramento? Etc

Also, acts aren’t cutting their teeth in small venues and building a live show anymore.

Now it’s drop a big single,or get a feature…book some festival dates…stay engaged on social media…and book an arena tour. This does work for a good amount of acts but not all.

But these acts really have no fan base they’ve come up with in a live setting. I have zero interest in seeing a TikTok fueled act jump right to an arena stage. I’ve seen tooooo many inexperienced acts put on very poor sets at festivals because they didn’t have live chops yet.

I'm officially too out of touch to know if Ken Carson and Playboi Carti can fill an arena.

Outdoor shows in Texas in August just sounds like a deathwish, but I've been wanting to see Bodybox for a while now so I guess heatstroke here I come.
