If anyone else here is swept away in Padam mania, Kylie Minogue dates are coming soon. UK in the winter, North America in the spring. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a Coachella gap.

are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

I'd rather see Priest than the rotting corpse of Ozzy so I'd say this is a win.

but isn't Priest minus Glenn Tipton?

I'd probably prefer to see them over Ozzy too, but they're not nearly the draw he is. I pay $5/month for this thing where you get comp tickets sent to you at least once a month, and they gave me Priest tickets the last time they were in town. Didn't go because I already had tickets for 200 Stab Wounds/Undeath/Enforced/Phobophilic that night.

For what it's worth I still had a good time seeing Judas Priest minus Downing and Tipton when I saw them last year. I usually try to avoid boiling a band down to make or break with a vocalist but I think the non-Halford years are the proof it's true in this situation.

How Are Passion Pit Playing Madison Square Garden? - SPIN

Not hard to manufacture a sell out at MSG. Not that I think BG need it, they/Phoebe are huge. Their Forest Hills show (13k) last month was sold out well in advance. Don’t underestimate Muna either, it’s no mistake that MSG is the only show they are on.

this whole genre is having a grunge like explosion right now. It’s pretty insane to watch as someone who likes to study music culture and history. I told Julien once that going to see BG on their first tour was like seeing nirvana, Pearl Jam, and sound garden on one bill intheir prime

If you end up checking it out I'm sure @bradsonemanband & I would love to hear your thoughts! I just went through to try to pick one song to recommend & it's really difficult. Coming from a diehard Everclear fan, it's definitely worth 40 minutes of your time, I return to it just as often as their big albums from the 90s & '00.

Maybe I'm wrong but I think Art, Dave, & Freddy are pretty grateful to still be playing music for a living, & appear to be happy playing small gigs & meeting fans. I can't fathom what it's like to be on pop-radio selling multiple platinum albums, playing to thousands of people a night, & then play to like a couple hundred a night.

  14. I saw Everclear recently for free in the park a block away from my apartment and there were mayyyybe over 100 people there. The band seemed to be having fun, even when the power suddenly went out in the middle of a song. Art grabbed his acoustic guitar and played "Brown Eyed Girl" while we waited for the power to reset. But yeah, I don't think they're trying to be as big as they were in the 90s/00s. Like you said, I think they're just happy to be still playing at all.

The prices for that AAR tour are so dumb...they want $98 after fees for anywhere in the pit, 100s or 200s at my venue, There's must be a promo or something coming because last week when I looked all the 400s and 500s were completely unsold, and today they're all grayed out except a few aisle seats.

    Things have changed.

Just Ticketmaster fuckery, manipulating inventory to spur FOMO purchases.

Getting Boygenius at MSG was much easier than expected. Got a floor ticket for 125 after fees by like 10:06

Anyone hitting up one of the Braid shows this week that can share pictures of the merch booth?

    idk man

That's crazy, I got in at around 10:20 and everything was gone. Glad you got a ticket!

I checked the Tampa date last week and they moved all the Platinum tickets to regular face value and that gave it a little bump in sales. It still looks maybe 30% sold, though. Kinda annoyed because there are better seats I could've gotten for less money than I paid during the presale.

Front row seats for the LA show of the AAR tour are $80 before fees. Other seats in the front section are $60. Now I’m tempted to pull the trigger
