As someone with a tight budget and 2 kids nowadays, I'm all for making money on the secondary market if the going rate of things dictates the value of things being that high. The consumer doesn't have to buy things ultimately if the price is too high. Lord knows I've had sticker shock with how much some things have been since the pandemic.

That seems to be the sentiment. I think, to put it bluntly, a FB Moms Group is likely an environment where people are actively looking to SAVE money so someone posting $2k tickets that were originally $600 or whatever is probably a bad look. That being said, the secondary rate of these tickets was really absurd and kudos to her team for doing what they can to keep prices down for those who were able to grab.

If the artist cares about their fans and is invested in actually giving a shit about fans financial ability to see their tours, then THE ARTIST has the ability to create a ticketing approach with TM/LN that does this (ie. The Cure, NIN, etc.)

If the artist allows the secondary to be the Wild West and allow resellers to make money, then by all means they should be allowed to make money. Harry, Taylor, and Beyoncé all had the chance to counteract scalpers and they chose to ignore it, that’s on them, not the scalper.

Taylor is getting a lot of free press over the cost of her tickets in the secondary market. Almost every city she plays in there’s an article about the insane prices. All pub is good pub and she’s riding this.

After seeing the measures NIN and The Cure have put into place, I'm convinced that if a band has platinum ticketing on or any sort of scalping ability, they straight up just don't give a shit about their fans at this point.

Pretty much, essentially at the arena/amphitheater/stadium level. My suspicion is they might elect to have SOME of the seate eligible for platinum/dynamic (as The 1975 did) in order to keep other ticket costs lower.

In other WTF news, Beyonce is apparently cancelling dates due to "production and scheduling" issues which is 100% code for poor ticket sales.

she just doesn't want to to go to Pittsburgh, kidding there was only 2 days between that and the previous show and then 2 days between that and the next show
I know sometimes they have multiple versions of the stage but still a lot

  18. I love how the internet is just people overreacting and coming up with silly conclusions after just reading a single clickbaity headline or tweet, and not fact checking anything whatsoever. haha never fails to amuse me.

Meanwhile... I'm just surprised the Ice Cube/Cypress Hill show in Boston hasn't been cancelled yet. They added 2 Chainz a few days back too. And... Yikes. Look at all that blue.

That venue felt like a stretch from the jump but this is way worse than I thought it would be. I think they priced themselves out. Upper-balcony seats are $90/ticket and anything lower than that, you're looking at about $195-$250 for a single ticket.

That is a great lineup and I’d attend in a heartbeat. But no way in hell would I spend $90 for those balcony tickets.

A similar lineup (Ice Cube, Cypress Hill and a few others) played down here in November (Toyota Arena in Ontario, out in the IE) and I think similar tickets were only $35. Of course my stupid ass held off on tickets and the show sold out

Well, they're playing in Pittsburgh on the 11th with Real Friends, The Home Team, Keep Flying, Northbound, And The Great Heights Band. And Real Friends and The Home Team are billed above them. Some maybe one of the latter three?
