If you happen to be talking about the Bangor, Maine date, it's selling horribly, but right in line for what basically any rock show that isn't Nickelback does in that market. They can sell out two nights at 15k for a bunch of country artists, but bring a rock act in and you can't give tickets away.

I got some crappy seats for me and some friends during the $25 all in sale. Looks like they've stopped selling in that area entirely, which means we're probably going to get bumped way up.

Another part of the problem with that Bangor show/venue in general is that its in Bangor far away from nearly any one that would actually want to see Weezer + Joyce Manor. Maine has the oldest population the US, not too many people young enough to even know Weezer that well or care about them. Closer to Portland and I'm sure it would be doing great since thats where the majority of younger people are in ME. I'm sure they'd kill at a place like Thompson's Point.

Also I live in southern ME and Bangor is further from me than nearly any venue in MA or NH. Its like 3 hrs for me to get to Bangor and the show is on a friday, no way I'd have a chance of making it on time after work.

Yes to all of this, though I do think the venue is also just too large for them in this state. Thompson's Point would be a great spot, but its capacity is less than half of the Waterfront. I seem to recall them doing very well at the now defunct Pier (which was also a Waterfront Concerts venue.)

There have been some outliers over the years, but I think they've all had far bigger reach than Weezer does. Paramore, Blink-182, and Fall Out Boy have all sold pretty well there in the past, but still nothing like a country sell-out.

I'm in central Maine, so Bangor is actually more convenient for me than Portland, but only by about 30 minutes.

hahaha yup, talking about the Bangor date. I love Joyce Manor so that’s a huge draw for me, and not the biggest Weezer fan but can’t complain being in Bangor for the show and living in Old Town. Girlfriend and I got seats in the furthest back area but hoping we would get upgrades.

I went to blink on the lil Wayne/Neck Deep tour and that seemed to sell pretty well. Also went to Paramore and thought that sold well. I know a lot of traffic for a lot of the other shows are Canadian for the country/pop acts but can’t imagine there is a lot for this show

My buddy is currently at Tears for Fears, and he is sitting with all the comps and insiders and the dude sitting next to him is telling him Rage Against the machine is annoucing more dates next week. I text him “they just said they are going away for a bit” he said the guy swears next week.

I visited Maine for the first time in my life (Portland area) and was wondering what the scene was like. Appreciate the overview and, yeah, peculiar booking for that area.
