The Drain show in Austin in June is on a Sunday, starts at 2 and is over before 8. My ideal show.

People seem certain a Turnstile arena tour is coming soon? Anyone heard this?

I love Turnstile but they need to go lay down for a minute lol. They’ve been touring nonstop for almost 2 years

There’s no denying that Turnstile are huge rn. But I don’t think they’re at arena-level yet. I think if they took some time off and then dropped a new album, then I could maybe see it. But I think they’d need really solid support to pull it off

  7. Mark Rose did a show at 1:00 PM on a Saturday at a brewery two miles from my house last month, and of course it was a day I was out of town.

I'd go to a matinee show every single weekend just to support the concept. Wouldn't even matter who was playing.

For real, I wish concerts took a page out of the sports playbook. A Saturday or Sunday afternoon show would be ideal, just like how mid day ball games are ideal.

Same I was just in nyc for a show got back around almost 3. Train at 12:07-2:17 wait 6 mins for Uber then 20 min Uber ride home I saw Hayley kiyoko ended around 10:15 but, partly my fault getting back home to ct late. I stayed after to be in group photo she does every night on tour with fans and I like to walk back to train after an nyc show that’s like 25-30 mins from Irving. Then also stopping for Taco Bell after. As I was walking to Taco Bell and train I saw all the paramore ppl going home so that got out later then my show

I’m straight and up late when I go to nyc shows from ct and in 30s lol like I went to Charli xcx after dance party in 2019 missed last train home I think cuz it ended like 2 so had to wait until morning. In 2021 I waited for beabadoobee to get back to bus around 2 after Webster hall show cuz she had to go somewhere after. I got to met her and another reason for waiting was I was going to waterparks next night at brookyn steel. There’s been 4 times I stayed up over night in nyc cuz I done the nyc morning talk show concerts. One I stayed over night in nyc for after something before I think was Betty who concert before I went to Janelle monae on the today so was so worth the 24+ staying awake cuz her people picked 10 people in the crowed to dance for her during I got the juice on live tv. Here is me on the far right In a screen shot

About a month ago, a band that I love and haven’t seen in years came through my city and played a bar that does a “punk rock night” every month.

bought my ticket without really thinking about it. The week of the show I looked at my ticket closer and looked at the venue’s website— tell me why ALL PUNK ROCK NIGHTS AT THIS VENUE BEGIN AT MIDNIGHT

It was a 3 band bill. The band I came to see didn’t go on until 1:30. I love them but they’re lucky i stayed that long. I have no idea how they have anyone come to their punk rock nights on the months where it’s just local bands.

I don’t think Turnstile is arena level big yet either. I think they’re maybe like, 7k amphitheater/shed level big (think the venues Phoebe Bridgers has been playing) and could probably hit those venues on their next album if it performs as well or even better as Glow On did.

This is wild. History in Toronto is a 2,500 cap venue. When they did their Red Tree Anniversary show in 2017, they played a 600 cap room. Not sure if Are We Happy is that much more popular or if this is more indicative of the current demand for shows (plus Sparta as support).

I know you guys can't do everything, but I missed out on the Tash Sultana dates and tickets at 'face' value for my market and I'm surely not going to blame myself, so who dropped the ball??

I definitely remember that being posted here. What show are you referring to? Can't imagine tickets will be THAT expensive.

Nah, I just wanted to be snide and joke about. I searched this thread to see if anyone dropped it, but I didn't see it. If they did, I just missed it which happens.

I'm not sure what face value was, but tickets are in the $80-$100 right now for GA, which I'll gladly pay. They're a great live act.

They sold out BK Mirage here which is 6k. I think they can do arenas in big markets with the right support. Not sure who that would be in terms of their genre though.

Yeah the Brooklyn show isn't sold out and $80 is what is "face' for GA tickets I believe.

Seats are about $55 face value in ATL, and the only GA left are VIP tickets at $115-$150. Stubhub and tickpick are the $75+ range. I didn't catch what face value was for GA, but I am assuming $40ish before fees.

Speaking of age, and late shows etc, despite being older, I still can't do seats at shows. It's GA or bust for me (unless it's an arena show I want to see) but in a typical 200-2000 cap show has gotta be a GA standing ticket and in the mix.
