Honestly, I think the answer is in everything you've said: The design is shitty so they can cram in as many people as possible at the expense of experience. In a lot of ways, it's the exact opposite of Roadrunner which seems to have been designed specifically with the concert-goer in mind. It's a huge room that feels intimate... And has easy access to restrooms, bars, and merch no matter where you're standing.

I went to the Gaslight Anthem there and vowed I'd never go again unless the line-up was super stacked and irresistible... Turns out, that's a very high-bar because I've actively skipped/plan on skipping a bunch of tours with great line-ups I'd be going to if it were at any other venue (AAR/NFG, Frank Turner/Interrupters, PS/DCFC).

Does anyone have the Artist Presale code for BLG-- can't seem to find anything on Twitter.

EDIT: Found it-- it's just "BLG"

Is the current Used/PTV tour alternating headliners every night?

Seems like it, some nights The Used have gone on at 8:30 PM, sometimes they've gone on at 10:00 PM or later according to setlist.fm.

a 10pm set? I take it you don’t goto electronic shows or festivals at all?

No show should go past 10pm. I'm too old for that.

There’s a venue in Chicago (Empty Bottle) that starts all their weekday shows at 9 and weekend shows (Fri/Sat) at 10PM

It’s a great venue but makes for some exhausted mornings when you go sometimes haha

How old are you guys that your late night shows have come to an end. I'm 30 now and still feel like I can do shows till 2 am and still be up for work in the morning. Is this all about to end haha

I'm 33, but I feel like my desire to be out after 10:30 ended around 27.

I’m 28 now. Still don’t mind late nights on weekends or going all night at festivals, but the want to be out late on weeknights never really came back when covid restrictions lifted.

I'm all for shows ending earlier but that's because I work overnights, earlier shows means I can make it to work on time lol

  19. I've never been a late night person (6:00 AM is sleeping in for me). I'll stay out late if it's a band I really want to see, but I'm exhausted for at least a day afterwards.

My big pet peeve is when venues aren't clear about doors/show times. It makes it so hard to plan an evening, especially if trains are involved.

Yeah I've never been a late night person to begin with, but especially after shows came back I've had zero desire to be at a show past 11 at the latest.
I'm in central PA though so our closet venue is 40+ minutes away, and we usually make then2 hour trek to Philly for a lot of shows too. So an 11pm end turns into being home at 1am at the earliest.
I miss my 10 minute drive to and from Philly, lol

Seems like the set starts super late but when they play an hour it’s over at normal time.

I’m 26 and hate being at shows until 11:00 or later. Haha. I’m ok doing it on a weekend or for a band I really love, but weekdays are a different beast. Especially if I have to drive up to LA for a show.

It kinda sucks, tbh. I love/miss being a night owl, but I wake up before 6 on weekdays, and if I get anything under 7 hours of sleep I’m due to feel like crap all day. (Sigh)

I feel like such an old man LOL. On the flip side, I do love being up early, so I can accept not staying up super late as much anymore because of that. But I miss my college days of staying up until 12-1 or being at shows/outings late.

I guess this is growing up.
