Yeah at this point something like a coheadline with NFG/Bayside or opening for TBS would be beneficial I think.

    They just can't headline forever

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

Yeah, those are definitely the ones of that size that make the most sense. As someone that wasn't super high on NCTH (though I do like it), it's been a struggle seeing them headline over and over again with the same deep cuts from that record I didn't think were that awesome.

  3. TWY just need to tour with bands that are definitively outside of the pop punk scene. They've been flirting with that a bit, bringing out bands like You Blew It! and Letlive, but they need to expand their audience.

Neck Deep is bigger than The Maine because it's 2017 and not 2008. I will never understand their appeal since they seem to be the most generic of the current "big" pop punk bands

Neck Deep are definitely huge but I don't think it's fair to say that The Maine are declining in popularity. They're playing bigger rooms than ever on this upcoming tour, and 8123 Fest drew what, like 3000 people? Neck Deep are obviously killing it right now, but they're different animals. The Maine are only tangentially related to Neck Deep's scene. All that being said, smart move for both of those bands and I wish this was hitting the US.

Really can't stand their earlier stuff but I think their latest album Life's Not Out To Get You is fun to listen to if slightly unoriginal. Working with Jeremy McKinnon really helped their songs get tighter and catchier than the majority of their peers. I'd imagine a younger person who is just learning about pop punk would really love it especially if they haven't heard all the previous bands who've done these tropes before.

Not really fair to isolate a festival celebrating 10 years of a bands legacy as a benchmark of how popular they are.
However, at least in my area, the venues on this upcoming tour are much smaller than their past ones. The one in my state is a little odd since it's a 21+ free casino show (300 cap), but in surrounding areas (AKA Boston / NYC), the venues for this tour are much smaller than the ones they went to for both the American Candy tour and the American Lines tour, by almost 1,000 cap respectively.

Not trying to argue or perpetuate anything, just pointing it out.

That's what I was hoping they would continue doing, but then a Real Friends/Knuckle Puck/Moose Blood/Seaway tour happened. It was fun, but didn't seem to be beneficial for their growth at all

Same for Philadelphia as well. Hit a 2500 cap venue on the American Candy tour (although their support probably helped draw some of the crowd, whereas this tour not so much) and is now hitting a 1000 cap room on this tour.

Neck Deep is basically the second coming of Blink-182 so it's not hard to see why they have become wildly popular.

I highly disagree with this statement.

    Things have changed.

Only because MCS is from Minnesota. Every other show had TWY closing every night.

Next Show - Foals April 22nd

They just put out a new single and it's probably the best thing they have done.

I look at ND as a modern day Blink in a similar fashion as how I see State Champs as the next New Found Glory. The younger generation of pop punk fans have a very good chance of growing up seeing those bands shape their childhood like Blink and NFG did for many people that frequent this forum and are older.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I view the newer Pop Punk bands. Anybody in the 15-18 age range were no older than 5 or so when blink broke up in 2005, let alone during the Enema/Take Off days. Those bands do mean the same thing to young kids that blink, NFG, Yellowcard, etc. meant to the older part of the scene at one time.

I certainly don't think they're as good as blink, but the generational connection can definitely be made.

Didn't say it was haha. I enjoyed the song and I think it's probably the best thing Jonny has done in years (also not necessarily high praise)
