Ugh, this lineup is so much better than Pennywise/Rotting Out who are opening my leg of the Rise Against tour.

I'm sad Michigan got screwed out of BOTH of those legs and all we ended up getting was a last minute appearance at a food festival lmao

I remember ETID did this once to open for the used. Had tour with Defeater/counterparts and bailed to open for the used

For some reason he looked really unhappy when they were setting up after the DRUGS set and it was a bit awkward in the first 2 songs (especially during the screaming part) but after that it felt like he was getting his groove back and it was much smoother. I saw them with Cove a few months back and I felt that Cove was a much better fit but Kurt was not too bad. Just didn't really sound like Tyson at all which through me off a bit.

I was really impressed with DRUGS tbh. I know everyone likes to dunk on Craig but this guy is a beast. Glasslands were a bit boring to me but they sound like a band that will explode if Octane discovers them. I was expecting a bit more from Dead American but their drummer was off so one of the guitarists replaced him at a really short notice which hurt the set (Cove told me that personally after the show). Secrets were fine, they did some new songs. Their cleaner is really good.

Just a heads up, half of SKSK's set is new songs so there were only like 6-7 older songs on their set.

The worst part is that a Rise Against/Used tour would be amazing on its own. I would go to that show but I really don't want Senses Fail getting my money out of that lineup.

As long Craig doesn’t stick his mic for half the set he always kills it. Secrets always do good too. I saw SKSK on the City Sleeps In Flames tour I just wish they would release new music when they play that many. DRUGS is playing a lot too. I think both should cut back on new ones

The Senses Fail thing makes even less sense now. The co-headliner was supposed to end April 22nd, and according to those texts the RA/The Used tour starts July 15th. Is a radius clause really that strict that almost 3 months in between the last date of one tour and the first of another isn't enough? It just reads more and more like the co-headliner wasn't selling well and this offer just was a convenient way out.

DRUGS did 2 new ones last night in a 10 song set.

it could be all radius’s but it could also be like we don’t want you on tour right before our tour

Yeah, I imagine it would somewhat kill the hype if the tour? I mean, if I were a big SF fan, and they were doing a headlining tour in the spring, then followed it up with a summer tour opening for someone big, I’d just stick to the spring tour and get a full headlining set to get my fix. But that’s just me. Idk. Senses Fail fans might be different when it comes to that sort of thing

I could see Buddy not wanting to be gone for that long during the first six months of his child’s life. This gives him the opportunity to be home the first few months to support his wife. Also, if you are going to do only one tour, the RA tour is a great opportunity to push the new album and the RA/The Used lineup is more in line with their core fanbase than the Coheadliner. Its still weird that this tour has been booked for so long and the timing of the tour was odd to begin with. A summer tour for the new album makes much more sense instead of doing a tour 4 months before the release.

I’m just pissed because I have tickets and it legit screws over Counterparts and SYSC who are in the same position that Senses Fail are with the Used/RA against your. This was an opportunity for them to play in front of new fans. After the pandemic it’s just scummy. Also, that notion of the opener on a summer shed tour affecting your ticket sales is dumb. It doesn’t work like that.

Oh I agree it’s a shitty move to make and sucks for the openers. They are left without a tour after two years of nothing. There’s not enough time for WCAR to book smaller venues and adjust logistics. I’m not a WCAR fan, but would have been stoked to see Counterparts/SYSC. I hope those bands can tour soon.

I don’t think opening for the RA tour would hurt the coheadliner sales, but I honestly think the coheadliner may have not been selling well to begin with. WCAR/SF is a weird combo and neither band has much momentum right now. It was playing a 1500 cap venue that I bet that would probably be half full. Something like that would probably make it easier for SF to pull out of the tour. SF’s whole rollout of the new album has been pretty awful and lackluster.

Wouldn't he have known for months that the birth of his child was going to be around March and known not to schedule a tour around then? Obviously this is their job and touring is what makes them the most money but...I don't really buy that all of the sudden he realized his child was gonna be born a month before the tour is to start. That's something he would have known to be around for, and also known to be around for the first however many months of the child's life.

Yeah the whole rollout of SF’s new album is weird to me. It would make much more sense for them to do the co-headliner with WCAR tour in the fall/winter after opening the RA tour. That way the album will have been out for enough for fans to digest it, and anyone that caught them on the RA tour can get the opportunity to see them again. Doesn’t make sense to tour on the album 4 months before it’s supposed to come out. They could’ve/should’ve waited

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. That was a bad call on Buddy’s part to even schedule the tour around that

That’ll probably be the excuse they’ll use when they make the announcement of the cancellation

I can maybe see how a tour could have been put together before they knew about a pregnancy with a March due date.
I can also see why someone would wrestle with this choice for a while once they did find out.

I just can't understand actually doing it.

(Also jeeze are RA really so huge that it'll be a significant sales booster?)

at least it's at a place with some infrastructure this year despite being in BFE. whoever thought the fucking Danville area was a great destination spot for a rock festival of the caliber is an idiot.
