Curious to know a bit more about the LTJ situation, the statement they put out is very vague.

 

My guess is that LTJ wanted x amount of dollars for a deposit on the guarantee to which Kraken said yes. Kraken then gave them y amount to which LTJ said WTF and Kraken said hehe whoopsie but you still play? And LTJ said no thank you but thank you.

 

LTJ commented on their FB post:

"Sorry, our contract with them had us as main support, before The Used. They decided to add a band, which is fine, but putting them in our spot and trying to bumping us down is a breach of contract. We are looking at booking another show in Orlando that night, so keep an eye out, and thanks for your support!"

It sucks for the fans, but this is a pretty standard breach of contract incident if what LTJ is saying is true. Can't blame them for pulling out if that's the case.

 

Yeah I don’t see why Anberlin couldn’t have just played before LTJ. It’s not like they are a much bigger band or anything. I put that one on the festival.

 

So basically for those that don’t know all the industry tricks. So what happened here is this fest didn’t sell well, so instead of losing their butts they find an add on that is essentially cheap but hopefully will add a couple hundred tickets, so they went the local route and got Anberlin. Billing on a festival is standard in the contract. I am surprised that LTJ pulled out over it, didn’t seem like a move they would pull. I assume they still get the same guarantee and playing time.

 

I have absolutely no background for this assumption but it wouldn't surprise me if there's some animosity between them, & there might be an issue of pride/ego over what is (kind of) a hometown show for both of them. Them saying they're trying to book their own show in Orlando that night is super petty but also kind of funny haha

 

So that Korn tour is def getting cancelled right? Just checked like 6 of the shows, and all of the arenas have the upper decks closed and they haven't sold more than 750-1,000 in any of the arenas.

 

I think something similar happened at Bamboozle 07 when Taking Back Sunday was booked to play directly before Linkin Park. Then Brand New was booked and the promoter offered them the slot before LP which led TBS to be like “yo, wtf?!?” Brand New, being the divas they are, said “ok we’ll either take the spot before LP, play first at noon or not play at all.” Thus the awkward Brand New opening set on Sun of Bamboozle 2007.

 

Sucks for people who wanted to see LTJ at that festival. Anberlin is a better fit for it anyway. Not that they are replacing them, they where just an addition.

 

Yeah, LTJ with the rest of those bands seemed weird. I get why they pulled, especially if they can make more money doing their own show.
