Anyone been to this before? Looks like a pretty cool event.

 

I haven't (and honestly not sure why) even though I live like 20 minutes from where this is held every year. Always looks like a fun event though!

 

Yeah I’m in South Jersey, not too far, and it always peaks my interest!

 

Kinda surprised the Dua lipa tour is going on still. Tickets are PRICEY

 

Guess that dearth cab/band of horses co headliner is out the window

 

Those Black Keys shows are definitely going to have some Groupon deals.

 

Solid openers on that Halsey tour. I wish her date here wasn't at the otherwise terrible Governors Ball in NYC otherwise I might consider going.

Halsey support is sick.

Is it just me or are there way fewer tours bringing the same support along the full run lately?
Is that a budgeting/covid issue?

 

I could have sworn Halsey was going to play Lollapalooza

 

I think it could go either way. My initial guess was just to bring more artists out for exposure, but that's totally possible.

 

I was at Madison Square Garden on Sat to see The War On Drugs who made a choice to not have an opener in an effort to keep a title COVID bubble (I get it, the bass player of your dumbass opening band tests positive, you gotta cancel the show which would be irritating). Felt kinda bad for the band as we had a massive blizzard, omicron is still present and the show was definitely a reach in terms of booking size for them to begin with. Venue was 2/3 full which, if you know MSG and you know NYC, is really rare as a lot of bands can fill this room even if they're playing, like, a few nights at the HOB in another city.

 

Pumped for Halsey! Obviously it was suppose to happen here the last two summers and didn’t. I am pretty confident it will this year. I’m going to have to check out Beabadoobe before the show.

Also looking forward to The Black Keys / Band Of Horses tour. Not so much to see TBK but I have only seen BOH once, in 2006 (I think?) opening for Modest Mouse. Should be a good all around show.

 

I'm gonna go to Milwaukee for Halsey! Has anyone ever been to the Amphitheater @ Summerfest? What's it like?

 

The amphitheater itself is just like any other amphitheater venue, but there's also the full Summerfest going on at the same time. You get free access to the festival with any amphitheater ticket, so show up early and check out some other stuff. There might not be many big names playing the other stages before the amphitheater show starts, but there's usually something cool to see. Also, parking is a nightmare so be ready to spend a long time getting out at the end of the night.

 

Never heard of this but the lineup is great!

Yeah, our local venue Kilby Court started this block party thing a couple years ago. They block off part of the street and put up a stage. Solid lineup for sure.
